The Johannesburg South Africa Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

The first temple in Africa, the Johannesburg Temple represents racial unity in a racially torn country. The Johannesburg Temple continues to be the only temple in Africa, the recently announced Accra Ghana Temple will be the second.

The temple was announced in April 1981.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 27 November 1982.
The cornerstone was laid and the temple dedicated on 24-25 August 1985.
There are 3 Sealing rooms and 4 Ordinance rooms in the 13,025 square foot temple.
The tallest (east center) spire is 112 feet tall.
The Johannesburg Temple serves stakes in Africa south of the Sahara.

I have not yet found any pictures of the interior.
