The Seoul South Korea Temple

of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints

In the 1960s Korean mission president Spencer J. Palmer bought a piece of land that he felt the Lord wanted him to own. At the time he thought that it would be a beautiful place to build a temple. Twenty years later Elder Boyd K. Packer agreed with him and chose that piece of land for the Seoul Temple.
The temple was announced in April 1981.
Ground was broken and construction begun on 9 May 1983.
The cornerstone was laid and the temple dedicated on 14-15 December 1985.
There are 3 Sealing rooms and 4 Ordinance rooms in the 12,780 square foot temple.
The tallest (east center) spire is 112 feet tall.
The Seoul Temple serves stakes in South Korea.
