Just received a telephone briefing from the IDF. Here are several
developments that are not being reported by the media, which I would like
you
to get out if possible:
- Contrary to an insidious interview conducted by National Public Radio
tonight that suggested that Israeli troops refused to stop firing at the 12
year old and his father in Gaza, the Israeli troops could not see the 12
year
old nor his father; the only thing they could see was a barrier from
behind which they were being shot at. In any case, the Israeli military also
denies that it shot the two. And in light of the deliberate prevarications
by
the PLO starting Wednesday night--when it outrageously claimed the bombing
that killed the Israeli solider in Gaza was a fabrication by the IDF and on
Friday when it falsely claimed that the Israeli border policeman had
"taunted" the PA policeman who murdered the Israeli--the media's blind
acceptance of the PA accusations that Israel was behind the murder of the
two
is another blood libel.
- Contrary to the Washington Post assertions, there was Israeli Arab
gunfire at motorists and Israeli policement in Nazereth, Taibe, Uhm al Fahm
and other Arab towns south of Haifa. As a result, all major roads in the
Galilee, major highways between Haifa and the Jordan Valley and between
Jerusalem and Beit Shan have been shut.
- Israeli cameramen and journalists were beaten in Jaffa and the West Bank.
- PLO's Jabril Rajub has threatened to take the war into the heart of
Israel.
