We recieve a monthly newspaper from a cousin entitled Ka makani o Kohala. I think thats awesome as well it enables us to keep in touch with our ohana. Aloha Shelley, Thanx for some great pix--is that a Makapu'u beach scene? I thought you might like some of the Hawaiian poetry on my site. The poem "Aloha, Lili'uokalani" appeared at the Queen's statue during the 100-year anniversary of the overthrow of her monarchy an then went on to win the Browning Society Award for Dramatic Monologue. My youngest daughter was born in Oahu and I moved when she was two. I intend on staying. Seeing your web site helps me show her. Robin and I we were going threw a hard time in our lives my Older daughter ranaway and was involved with gangs. Robin and I wo ld look for her try and track her down. The pain of loosing some one you love or not knowing if there are alive is devestating. The sitation had become so dangerous for Robin and I. The people Amber was associated with started to threaten Robin and I. For our safety we moved and stayed with my cousin. We felt so lost and hurt and not having our home I wanted to share my memories f Oahu. Robin and I search on the internet and there your site was. Your site helped us get our minds off our problems. My intentions were to visit Oahu and let Robin See where she was born. I Save up and made and started new life for our selves. We live in a beatiful area that close to The High School she will be attending. God has blessed use with good friends and each o her and Robin and I had built a new life where anything could be possible. Unfortunily Amber would come in and out of our lives with know succes each time costing a high price. The police found Amber two months ago since I had reported her as a runway. You think it would be great. She did not come of her own free will and there now was a stranger in our home and know matter how much love an support we gave her. The life she lived on the street has brain washed her. In the two month what took me a year too work hard and build is know slowy falling apart. Its amazing how one pers n's behavor can affect a whole family. Since we had her for two month she been missing two times. First time I was called from the hospital to tell me be was assaulted and cut on the neck. She is alive and Secound time she never came home. I had just star a new job and of course lost it because of the time I had to take off. To make a long story sort Here we go again. In this last week we went to court for the Assault and Yesterday we went to court for her Truency from last year. I figure with a lot of love hard work and the shock of almost getting killed would change her life. I thought all we have went threw would be worth it as long as she was ok. Well No sooner did we get out of the court room and take her back to school. I as informed she hadn't been In school in the after noon. So oviously I'll be in court next week. I think its harder on Robin. We really believed she changed and to realize she hasn't is like a big slap in the face. Of course I do what I can to get Amber help but in the court they told her when she pleaded guilty it was either 6month in jail or havin a braclet So the reason I am telling you this story to let you know that your site. Has helped and is helping Robin and I. Robin has managed to hang in there with me. I am going to work hard no matter what Amber sitition becomes. Robin and i still have a right to a life. I'm shooting to make it to Oahu on her birthday in June. God willing its far enough away. Your site is full of so much information and helps me share. In june I and Robin would like to Thank you in person. Robin loves the Idea that you were born in awii like her. I wish I rember her email in your spare time she would love to get email from you.
