Extra Info
Giga Ziga are relatively easy to breed as long as their water conditions are correct. DO NOT MAKE THE HNO3 TOO HIGH or else they WILL get Red Rust which is fatal. The ykzm-acid makes the HNO3 level rise. My fish seemed to breed more often with lower levels of NH3 (2.0 - 4.0) and HNO3 (like 10.0 - 30. 0) but then I did have variations.
Unlike natural fish they do not seem to need very many plants, just a few here and there. I have had success breeding them in pairs and breeding them in groups so they will work either way as long as the pairs are close in age. Never mix Mekasia fish with natural fish. (It's a no no.)
Here's a tip I picked up. Though chlorine seems to have no affect on Giga Ziga so many say just don't worry about it, I say yes, do worry about it. The chlorine medication not only makes the chlorine level go down but, also makes the NH3 level go up. Giga Ziga want high NH3 levels but the only way to get the Ammonia Plus medication was to buy the Pufferchrome Kit. No More. All you have to do is add extra chlorine medication and the NH3 goes up easily. This does not seem to have any negative effects on the Giga Ziga. (The AZ Water Conditioner also raises the NH3 quite a bit but also makes the water softer and Giga Zigas like hard water so this is irrelevant.
