Extra Info
Dwarf Pencilfish
have to be the easiest to breed. Mostly because they are not particular
to their water conditions and will breed in just about any condition. I
have had my Dwarf Pencilfish for about a week now and they have already
laid and hatched four batches of eggs. Two days after I bought them they
started mating. At first I didn't even want to buy them but when I saw
that they were last week's $.99 special I just had to try them. They have
bred for me, more times than the Red Platy but, the Red Platy has more
fry at one time than the Pencilfish does. Just make sure you arrange plenty
of plants to the back and sides of the tank and keep the water half-way
clean and they'll spawn endless generations just like the CD says they're
suppose to. Oh, and it is best to keep them in large numbers like Black
Molly and Red Platy and maybe make sure they are the only fish species
in the tank (they may not have to be the only species in the tank but I
always keep mine separate anyway).
