Vol. 1 Summary „It is true, what I’m telling you. Monster really exist, even though you can’t see them”. With these words the great saga begins, dedicated to Ushio and his Enemy/Friend Tora. Everything started in a basement and the congenital curiosity of a 14 years old boy. Ushio Aotsuki doesn’t want to believe, what Shigure, his father, is always telling him, “Monsters do exist…” he says and now one of them has to be under the house of the Aotsuki family, a Buddhist temple of Fugen-In. The majestic creature is there, since 500 years now, pinned on a wall by an ancestor of the Aotsuki family with a magic spear – The Spear of Beast. And Ushio released it. But he is thankful for the help of the monster, which he called Tora, who helped him destroy the horrible Stone Eater, a demon, which had been trapped in an antique Samurai-stature, kept in a school. Ushio decides to keep Tora, so he can’t kill any humans, which are his favourite meal. But Ushio can only do this with the help of the spear, which controls Tora, because this one is willing and determine to eat Ushio as soon as he gets the opportunity! Ushio visits, along with his friends, Asako and Mayuko, an art exhibition of a painter. Here he watches a picture, which shows a girl, identical with a student, who visits the same school as Ushio – Reiko Haju; a shy girl, indifferent and very, very sad. Soon he finds out, that the girl is the one on the painting. The problem is, that Reiko’s father, dead, damned and now possessed a demon, can’t find any piece and hunts and kills everyone, who approaches to him. Years ago the father of the girl used to be treacherous and left his own wife and now he doesn’t want his daughter to come for a visit at all, not even dead! So Ushio visits her, along with Tora, to defeat the despicable demon, which is trapped in a painting, to kill him and exempt Reiko from the curse. Next |
