| Vol. 28 Summary Ushio has to face Guren all by himself. Guren knows, he is stronger than Ushio and seems to find this very funny. He asks Ushio, what it feels like being betrayed by monsters, he thought, they would be his friends and if he came to see them die from close up. Ushio replies, he didn’t come to watch, he come to fight. Guren just laughs and sends his Black Fires on ahead, who attack Ushio, but hardly he has finished them all, Guren sends new of his creatures afterwards, of which he can give birth to continual effortless… Meanwhile Mayuko, Jiemei, Saya, Mamori and Tora have taken Asako to the good-natured Kappa, who spreads his healing ointment on her, to cure her burnings. Fortunately Kagari has spread her with her ointment as well, so his medicine will work even more effective, he says. But she has to be taken to a human doctor. They shouldn’t try only to cure with his medicine… Mayuko looks at Tora and asks him, if he doesn’t have to go to help the boy with the spear. Tora gets angry and asks her in return, just why he should have to go to help him and Mayuko says, he seems to be a little bit worried to her. Jiemei explains to her, that he is Tora, the monster which belongs to the boy with the spear. There is only one reason, why he’s doing this. He wants to eat him. This boy threatens him with the Spear of the Beasts; the same, which had held him on a cellar wall for 500 years. That’s why he is forced to fight the monster along with the boy of the spear. Why he has to fight? The boy with the spear hunts all kind of monster to save people. He doesn’t fear danger. He wants to eat the boy and he can’t bear others could do this in his place. He can’t stop fighting right now. He really wants to eat the boy… It’s bad, Mayuko says and Jiemei agrees with her. Tora starts to giggle and says she is right. He just can’t forget it; the taste of human flesh, the smell of blood… This taste of entrails on his tongue. He wonders just why he wants to eat flesh right now and he can’t stand this situation. He says, he wants to eliminate the Black Fires, carry Ushio away and eat him and he’d only go because of that! Then he turns to Jiemei and says, he isn’t in a hurry, but although he is merely a spirit, she really is clever… And he leaves. Meanwhile Ushio is still busy with Guren’s Black Fires and obviously exhausted. Guren asks him maliciously, if he doesn’t feel a little bit stupid, because he came to save these monster, but none of them helps him. Ushio can’t move his legs anymore, there is only one single opportunity left for him. He has to fight against Guren. Ushio aims the Spear of the Beasts at Guren and throws it, tries to hit him this way, but it misses him. Ushio can’t defend himself now anymore and when Guren is about to grab Ushio and eat him, Tora appears, who had caught the Spear with his teeth and throws it back to Ushio. So Ushio finally gets help and the two destroy the Black Fires together; they are one monster in two…! Guren really is mad now about the inability of his Black Fires and tells his monster to keep calm. They only would be two moving idiots, they would be much stronger and they shall crush these two without any mercy. Tora is aware of their strength, but the two get some help by Kirio and Kuin. The Black Fires have no chance against the 4 fighters and Tora asks Guren, if he still wants to go on. But he only bursts out into ringing laughter. Tora wants to know, why he is laughing and Guren says, it would be nothing. He faught against very capable enemies, but maybe it would be better for today, if he would move back… but they also would be such jokers… Guren knows, they believe, they would have defeated him, but next time he’ll kill them… and he disappears… Ushio is totally exhausted and breaks down. Kirio is worried about Ushio, but Ushio says, he had been saved at the last moment and thanks Kirio and Tora… Ushio would like to go back to Saya, to see how’s Asako. Just when he gets up again, by chance he sees a strange armour lying in the rubbles, but doesn’t pay anymore attention to it. The monsters of the West and the East stare at Ushio. Tora says grumpy to Ushio, so he had useless fought for the monsters and they don’t even thank him. Ushio looks very sad and only replies, he didn’t expect gratitude from anybody… And Ushio, Tora, Kirio and Kuin are making tracks to Saya… … Back to Saya and the others: Jiemei says, it seems like everything is over and Mayuko is worried about Ushio and Tora, but Saya can reassure her. Jiemei saya to Mayuko, it would be time to go now. Saya asks, if they don’t wanna welcome Ushio and Tora at least, but Jiemei explains to her, they are already close to the moment of Hakumen no Mono’s awakening. Sumako, Ushio’s mother, becomes weaker every day. They need Mayuko, whose forced are still undamaged. Saya is distressed and says to Mayuko, if she will become a O-Yakume, she has to control Hakumen no Mono continuously and she can’t return to her previous life anymore for 100 years or even for 200 years. But Mayuko just smiles at Saya and says, she would be very kind. She asks Saya to take care of Asako until Ushio and Tora are back and then she leaves with Jiemei. When Ushio, Tora, Kirio and Kuin arrive, they take Asako to a hospital in Mikado. When Asako wakes up in the hospital, she can’t remember the way she came here. A nurse tells her, she had been brought here by a boy and it would be a wonder she is still alive. When she arrived at the hospital, 20% of her body surface was burned and this is very dangerous. When the nurse leaves the room to call the doctor, Asako sneaks away… Meanwhile Ushio, Tora, Kirio and Kuin are standing in front of the hospital and talk. The doctor said, Asako will be fine soon and Ushio believes him. For Kirio it’s hard to understand everything. Now he knows, who Ushio is or what his task is and he also knows, Mayuko will be the next O-Yakume. But he still can’t believe, the servants of Hakumen no Mono have entered his head and the one of Kuin and have eaten the part of memory concerning Ushio and Tora… Ushio intends to go to the sea of Okinawa and Kirio says, he wants to go to Mayuko, to save her. Right after Kirio left, a police car stops next to Ushio. The policemen ask Ushio for his name and when he tells them, they want to arrest him. Ushio is angry and wants to know, what he did and the policemen reply, he destroyed the main building of the temple, where he lives and he blew up the house of his classmate Mayuko Inoue and then he is wanted as an important witness of the disappearance of his two classmates Asako Nakamura and Mayuko Inoue. Ushio tries to explain he didn’t do it, tears off and runs away… Meanwhile Asako roams around completely worn out on the streets looking for Ushio… Ushio hides from the policemen in a backyard and fortunately they run past him. He wonders what kind of evil thing he could have done. Suddenly Tora appears again telling him, he’d just have to tell them everything... His house had been destroyed by Guren and Tora destroyed the house of Mayuko and then Mayuko became an O-Yakume. He wonders who he should explain all this, without anybody would think he’s crazy. Mister Atsuzawa and the others have forgotten all about him and surely Tora can’t testify it in his favour, either. They just mustn’t arrest him now. Suddenly Ushio sees a man standing at the end of the lane looking at him. Ushio thinks at first it would be the police and gets into panic, but the man calms him down and says, he wouldn’t be a policeman for sure. He wants to get to know Ushio and asks him to get into his car and come along with him. The man smuggles Ushio past the police stop and Ushio is really glad about that. Tora is distrustful and says to Ushio, it wasn’t very clever to go along with this man and easily trust him. What if this guy reveals as an enemy, but Ushio contradicts Tora. What other alternative he would have had anyway… Unexpectedly the man asks Ushio, if he just talked to the monster. The two are surprised, he knows about Tora and Ushio asks him, how this is possible. The man laughs, because Ushio just called him “Sir” and says, he is only 34 years old, but to Ushio he is old… Then the man introduces himself. His name is Katsumi Moriya. He works at Chanal 7 and he is a TV reporter. Ushio wonders, why a TV reporter wants to get to know him. So he must know him for a while and why does he remember him. Everyone has forgotten about him… Moriya explains, it looks like only the ones who have known the two directly don’t have their memory anymore. The serving monsters eat the memory and enter the brain of the persons who are able to easily recognize Ushio and Tora of their smell. Moriya first only had seen them on TV and then he collected information about them by the help of other people. This is the first time he can speak with them directly. The serving monsters won’t be prudent with him… Ushio wants to know, from where he knows the serving monster and Moriya replies, Ushio should ask the person, who wants to meet him… Ushio asks, if he always have followed him and Moriya answers in the affirmative. Suddenly they see a motorbike driving behind them, which makes up until it’s directly driving next to them. Ushio wonders about this guy and it seems to him like he has seen this motorbike before. Suddenly he sees a stick, which only Kouhamei carrier with them and Ushio now believes to know, who this guy is… The motorcyclist attacks them and Moriya’s car turns over. Tora is really made and attacks the mysterious motorcyclist, while Ushio helps Moriya out of the car. Ushio watches the fight. He isn’t sure, if this guy is the one, he thinks he is, but he knows this fight technique… It seems like Tora can’t win this fight right now and Ushio wants to leave. Suddenly Moriya says, he heard there is a spy of Hakume no Mono among humans. It seems like he would be a top class monk. Ushio is angry. He can’t support there is a spy among the battling monks. Ushio points at the motorcyclist and wants to know from Moriya, who this guy is and if he knows this person. Tora is still busy fighting with the motorcyclist and he knows him! He tears helmet and classes off his head, which covered his face and it is Akiba Nagare…! Nagare laughs and says to Tora, how strong he still is. Tora wonders about Nagare, who still remembers him and wants to know, why he didn’t turned to stone along with the other monks. Nagare greets Ushio as well and Ushio is also amazed, Nagare still remembers him. Nagare winks and says „Yes…“. Ushio feels relieved and wants to know, why Nagare attacked them, he was scared. Then he turns to Moriya and wants to know from him, if this boy really can be the spy of Hakumen no Mono… Moriya doesn’t know what to say… Ushio says to Moriya, he told him, somebody wants to see him, instead he lied to him to take him away and Nagare had come to save him! Then Ushio turns to Nagare to ask him, if it wouldn’t be so. But Nagare apologizes and says “The answer is “no”, Ushio…”. Ushio is shocked and asks him, if he is only joking, but Nagare is deadly serious. He says, he remembers… well him as Tora… instead the others are the ones who have forgotten about them and he wants to know from Ushio, if he understands what this could mean… But Ushio really doesn’t understand. Nagare is a fighting monk, trained to fight monsters, he is one of the candidates for the Spear of the Beasts and a great enemy of Hakumen no Mono, but Nagare just has to laugh about Ushio’s usual naivety… Moriya says, it’s just like he heard… Hakumen no Mono has caused different accidents to stop the union of his enemies. If he wakes up again, he’ll have less problems this way. To stop Ushio and Tora, he engaged humans… and it’s Akiba Nagare…! Nagare is amazed about the good informed Moriya, but he knows, Moriya is a journalist anyway. He gives Moriya a piece of advice not to poke his nose into other people’s business. Just when Nagare is about to destroy them for good, he is interrupted by a police car (Moriya says, someone must have called the police). He wanted to fight without being interrupted, but now it seems like he has to defer his fight to another time and is making tracks. Ushio still can’t believe Nagare is a spy of Hakumen no Mono and blames the serving monsters, but Nagare makes Ushio plain, he definitely isn’t a puppet of the serving monsters. Ushio wants to know, why and Nagare replies, he decided to be a part of Hakumen no Mono… and he leaves. Meanwhile the police arrived, who came to arrest Ushio. Ushio doesn’t fight, because he still has to think about Nagare. Suddenly a helicopter and a giant van of the ministry of defence and environment appear or better H.A.M.M.R.. Moriya asks Ushio and Tora, if they still remember the scientist, who used them as a guinea pig some time ago and Ushio answers in affirmative. Moriya tells them, they have worked together with the commission for precaution against the unusual misfortune, a japanese organisation, who fights monsters. They have explored Hakumen no Mono. They are the scientist, who wants to see Ushio! The employee of H.A.M.M.R. speaks to the police and asks Ushio to come with them… Meanwhile Kyoji Atsuzawa has a visit from the incarnation of Hakumen no Mono, who pretends to be Jiemei, the one fights Hakumen no Mono along with the Spear of the Beats… (he heard of Jiemei from Yuu’s stories)! She asks Kyoji for a favour. She tells him the barrier, which holds back Hakumen, will be soon destroyed by him without any problems. He has collected his force in the rock column, which is on the opposite of him. If the moment comes, he lets explode all his force and he will destroy the barrier like this. Hakumen no Mono will be come out of the sea and will carry an inferno on the earth. And for that reason she asks Kyoji to collect all is force to destroy the rock column, because if it’s destroyed, the amassed force will become invalid during the long sleep and Hakumen no Mono will keep on sleeping… Meanwhile Ushio meets the scientists doctor Nicolas Kestner and doctor Marco Pavroty, who are surrounded by serving monsters. Ushio destroys them, but it wouldn’t have been necessary, because the two have invented a magnetic head, which can produce a barrier stopping the serving monsters, if you put it on the head. Doctor Pavroty explains Ushio, why the Kouhamei turned to stone and why the monsters, which are called Azafuse and resemble Tora, are petrified in expectation of fighting Hakumen… The reason for all this are the serving monsters. The monks are petrified so they won’t loose their memory. They don’t want to forget Ushio and Tora and the Spear of the Beasts… They fear more than every other thing the despair, Hakumen no Mono causes and the Azafuse don’t want to get extinguished their memory of Hakumen out of their head. As far as it concerns the procedure of the used petrifaction of the monks, the doctors understood, the monks and the Azafuse managed to stopp the activity of the cells with the spiritual power. But the method of the Azafuse isn’t known to them. One single thing is for sure, they all are petrified by themselves. But sooner or later they return and take part of the battle against Hakumen no Mono! Ushio feels more than relieved hearing this; so his father and the others won’t stay like this forever… But Hakumen no Mono expected they would return to be like they used to be… One week ago a bigger department of the state of force of defence has received the application for a special approval of attack by the head of the commission for precaution against the unusual misfortune. It concerns the rock column, which stands in the sea of Okinawa, where Hakumen no Mono sleeps. They want to throw rockets at it; on the rock column where Hakumen no Mono has collected his forces! Ushio is despaired, because that’s where his mother is as well, who holds the barrier, which keeps Hakumen trapped! Kestner and Pavroty say, they have told them, in all probability it is a trap of Hakumen no Mono. It seems like the head of the commission, Atsuzawa, had met a woman called Jiemei. This is the beginning of the whole story… But of course the real Jiemei would never let attack the rock column and that’s why they two doctors believe it’s a trap… The fake Jiemei appeared in front of every head of military, in the house of every general! They all said, it was girl of about 10 years with black hair, dressed in the Chinese style. The two doctors know, the attack will be soon… between two days, punctually at noon the manoeuvre starts. If they start to attack and the rock column will be hit, Ushio’s mother will be blown up and Hakumen no Mono will be in freedom again and they, who aren’t perfectly prepared yet, will sink along with the whole Japan! To avoid this, the doctors have a enormous machine, which actually was invented to stop monster. They have intensified the force of this machine and amplified its range. The power of Hakumen no Mono is still unknown, but if he wakes up again, this machine will produce an invisible wall, which helps them to get some more time… Meanwhile the heavy injured Asako drags herself through the streets of Tokyo, looking for Ushio. She wants to apologize to him and thank him for saving her life. Lucky for her Ayume, Kagami and Katayama take her up and take her to their home… … Before Kestner and Pavroty want to let go Ushio and Tora, they want to give Ushio something to take with; an armour he really should put on, when he counters Hakumen, so it will protect him. It’s an armour which had been created by monsters and that’s why it contains the kind of energy, only monsters possess, which will be able to protect him in all probability. Ushio and Tora know this armour pretty well. It’s the one of Ishikui (the Stone Eater)! Ushio thanks Kestner and Pavroty and takes the armour and a letter from the two doctors, he really must read and leaves with Tora. But before they set out for Okinawa, Ushio would like to go home once again… While Ushio is in the house to change his clothes, Tora stays outside and watches the petrified Azafuse. Suddenly they begin to break into pieces and out of their inside the Black Fires jump out, who came to destroy the Azafuse and their great enemies – Ushio and Tora. Ushio realizes very fast, why they’re still here… to destroy the petrified monks, who are still inside the temple! The Black Fires are very strong, they heavy wound Tora and to fight them even more effective Ushio puts on the armour… Next |
