Sarah Brightman

Sarah Brightman originated the role of Christine in the London and Broadway productions of Phantom of the Opera. Andrew Lloyd Webber (who later became her husband!) wrote the role especially for her because of her amazing voice.

When Sarah wasn't even nominated for a Tony in 1988 (the year Phantom premiered on Broadway), the world was shocked. Her voice, operatic yet good for pop singing too, is worthy of any award out there. I think she really deserved the Tony award for her outstanding portrayl of Christine.

I recently had the privilage of seeing Sarah in concert. She was outstanding and I was breathless through the whole thing. It was like being in the room with an angel - her unbelievable voice filled the entire theater and sent chills down the back of your neck.

Sarah Brightman will still be remembered for her amazing voice long after she is gone.
