Hey guys!  Well, welcome to my journal.  Sorry.  But there won't be anything really private written on this site (unless you're lucky and I slip).  This site is just for me to keep you guys updated on any changes that I've made on my site.  Occasionally I'll talk about what's going on with me, but hopefully not too much.  So yeah.  Just check on me from time-to-time to see what's going on with my site, okay?  I appreciate it.  And for those of you long-time readers, you'll notice that my entries won't be as "amusing" as when I was putting my personal life into this.  =)  Too bad.  =D  Bon apetite!
Journal 13
(above) a group pic of the guys of Hedrick.  These guys are some of the titest guys I know.  They've been awesome friends.  =)

Okay.  Time to get this thing started again.  Since I found that it was impossible for me to update my journal with all the stuff that goes on in my daily life, I finally decided not to go over my life story and life's progress.  Instead, I'm just going to update those of you who actually come to my site, and tell you what changes or updates I have made.  I know.  I know.  It sounds boring.  But I think it'll work out.  We'll see.

Well, I'm back in LA now after Winter Break.  It was an awesome vacation.  I did get to update my site a bit.  I cleaned up my Table of Contents.  I made it resemble my old Table of Contents because I liked the old format.  I tried to fix up my China Trip site, the site I made for my baby sisters, and the site for my friends back home in San Jose, but even when I was working on my brother's new fast computer, the pictures took forever to display.  So I just decided it would have to be something I had to do down here in LA. Hopefully I don't procrastinate too much because after the end of this year, bye-bye ethernet.  Sucks, huh?  Oh well.  At least I'm making more progress this year than last year.  Plus, my pages look a lot nicer than they did when I first started making web sites.  Dude.  My first ones are so embarrassing to look at now.  That's why you won't find any links to them here.  No siree.  I'm kinda starting from scratch.  Seeing what sites interest people is hopefully going to help me out in the work place ... but I digress.

Um.  What else did I with my site that I haven't mentioned?  Oh!  Well, like I said, I'm planning to fix up my China Trip site and add lots and lots of comments about the trip.  I probably forgot most of what happened on the trip, but I guess that's okay.  For those of you who are familiar with my writing, I can ramble for hours and hours, especially if it's fresh in my mind.  Now that months have gone by, only the important details will be in my mind.  I'll try to find time to update that site.  It's going to be hard though because I gotta start doing homework soon.  I haven't done a thing since I got back and we're already almost done with week one.  Ouch.  Hm.  I'll see.  And as for the site I made for my little sisters, I'm not sure what I'm going to do with that site.  I'll probably consult my little sisters and see if they have ideas.  And as for my site for the San Jose people, I'll probably just post pictures of group reunions and talk about any big things we do together now that they're less and less frequent (not that I really spent a lot of time with them while I was in San Jose).

Okay.  What else?  Well, I'm going to go to dinner soon, so I might have to continue this some other time.  I probably won't have any problems picking up where I left off.  Okay.  Going now.  Later everyone!  And now ends the first entry of my journal for the 21st century!  =D
Links not available yet because this is the first journal for Ken's 2nd Web Site (13th overall).

Okay.  I'm gonna have to seriously start doing some homework soon.  I guess that's what the upcoming three-day weekend is for.  Okay.  Now where did I leave off?

Well, I'm pretty sure I talked about the addition of my class schedules on this site, right?  You can check on all the courses I've taken (since Fall 2000), and find out where exactly I am currently.  It's really cool.  Check it out.
Ken's Course Schedules is the table of contents with links to whatever quarter you want to look at.  I figured it was better than posting each of my schedules in my Table of Contents (and therefore waste room), or deleting my previous schedule.  Um.  Just go check it out if you don't know what I mean.  =)

Okay.  What else have I changed?

Oh.  I put in the link to the
Azian Mafia Homepage.  It'll link you to the new location of the online Azian Mafia club at Yahoo!.  Excite for some reason took away their online clubs, so I was forced to move it.  Go check it out also.  But you can only join if you were a member of the Mt. Pleasant High School Cardinals Track team.  I'll have to boot you out if you're not.  Sorry.  =)

And of course there's my
BestOfUCLA B-Day Countdown page.  Perhaps the most popular of all my pages.  I'm not quite sure why though.  I guess because it's a pretty cool idea.  Actually it's not mine.  I got it from Benny's (my roommate this year) friend.  His friend set up a page that showed how long it was to everyone's (everyone as in their friends) birthdays.  I thought it was a cool idea, so Mishael and Benny talked me into doing it for our group of friends.  It didn't take me very long either.  The headshots were all taken from a photo that was taken last year that I just happened to have scanned in a few days earlier when Tri wanted it scanned.  If you check the site, you'll see that I have more visitors there than I have from my whole site.  Crazy, huh?  Haha.  Well, I probably won't tell you when I update that page because I updated it after every birthday.  I will, however, tell you when I update the pictures like I did pretty recently.  I update it whenever there's a cool group picture.  I like taking headshots from group pics.  So yeah.  Oh.  Forgot.  Please don't take offense if you're not on that site.  Like I said, it was Mishael and Benny's idea.  So I couldn't very well post on every person that I know.  'Cause then it'd be Ken's Friends B-Day Countdown.  So yeah. Please don't take it as a "diss".  If you really want me to add you, I will though.  Maybe I'll make one later for everyone else.  We'll see.  Oh.  By the way.  Next on the list is Steve.  =)

Okay.  The next page I added as for this one prose-poem that someone forwarded to me.  I thought it was a pretty neat one, so I made a quick site with the poem on it.  No.  Don't read too deep into it.  It doesn't have to do with me.  It just made a lot of sense that's all.

Okay.  If I haven't bored you enough, I still have a little bit more updating to do, so bear with me.  =)

Oh!  Dang it.  I forgot.  I have to add Raymond's site and Randy's site to my Table of Contents.  Hrm.  I'll do that after I complete this entry.  I only have two more pages to discuss anyways.

The curiosity page, I made just because I was curious how many people peek at my AIM (AOL Instant Messenger) Buddy Info.  'Cause I had a feeling that a lot more people were looking at it than I thought.  So I decided to post a link to the page in my info.  Sure enough, seems like I have about 60 or so people who read my profile on a DAILY basis.  Crazy, huh?  Oh well.  I guess there's nothing better to do.  I'm going to have to start censoring my Buddy Info because my sister is now and online freak.  Go figure.  The most computer illerate perosn I know, and she loves going online to chat.  Sounds like I'm going into the right business.  =)

Okay.  Here's the home stretch.  The last update I made was this page.  As a few of you might know, when I first made my very first web page, I had no idea what to do with it.  So I just wrote what I was doing with my site as I was becoming familiar with the website designing.  Well, I didn't come up with very many good ideas, so I just stuck with what I did best.  Writing about absolutely nothing (later called journal writing).  Well, to keep with that, I'm adding this journal back to this web site picking up where I left off.  So yeah.  I guess my journal's here to stay after all.  But it won't contain anything private like before.  'Cause I found out that when I include private stuff and then ....
Friday, January 12, 2001.  5:54 PM.
Sorry about that.  Had to talk to my sister.  She's coming down to visit UCLA on Monday, since school won't start for her for another few weeks.  Oh.  She's back on again.  BRB.

Okay.  So where was I?  Oh.  Yeah.  Well, I found out that putting private stuff in here is not a good idea (duh) 'cause it eventually bites me in the buttocks.   So yeah.  I'm sticking strictly to updating you guys about my site instead about my life.  Two totally different things.  If you're lucky I'll slip in an occasional aside.  Otherwise, you'll have to get used to this.  Haha.

Anything else?  Hm.  I think that's it for now.  Gotta go organize those three pages I talked about.  So then I can finally advertise my site again.  Yes.  Haha.  This time I expect there to be a lot more readers because my site looks so much better than my first one.  Hey.  Did I mention that the counters for all my old sites got resetted (not that you'll be seeing them)?  Dang it.  So yeah.  It looks like I had a lot less readers than I reall did.  But that doesn't matter. That stuff's all in the past.  Time to move on to the future.  Time for
Ken's 2nd Web Site!  Yeah!
Friday, January 12, 2001.  7:01 PM.
Just update Ken's 2nd Table of Contents.  Put in a whole mess of links.  Go check 'em out.  Yes!  I'm so happy.  My site's getting updated major!  =D

Oh.  And just a little note.  Even though I call all my stuff "Ken's [this]" and "Ken's [that]", I really do like it when people call me by my whole name.  I don't tell very many people that, but I figure most people are accustomed to "Ken".  I just use "Ken" because it's shorter and easier to fit with titles.  Yeah, I introduce myself as Ken to people, but that's because I have difficulty prounouncing "Kenneth".  Haha.  It's true.  =D  Just a little digression.  =)
Saturday, January 13, 2001.  3:30 PM.
Okay.   I have seriously got to start doing some homework soon.  Week 1 has already ended, and I haven't done anything.  Dude.  Okay.  This will be the last update for a while.  I probably won't work on this site again any time soon.  Maybe Spring Break.  We'll see.  But yeah.  After the last entry, I work on my site for about 4 more hours.  So in total, I work on my site for about 7 hours straight.  Dang.  No wonder people keep asking me how I have time to do this.  Argh.  Okay.  Quick updates.

Well, for the title page I added that little "Best viewed with Microsoft Internet Explorer" thing.  Personally, I like using Netscape, but for some reason my pages look better on IE.  I guess it's because I use IE to make my pages.  Probably.

I also did some minor fixes to my Table of Contents.  Even though it's based on my old Table of Contents, it still looks a whole lot better.  Seriously.

Next, (and probably where I spent most of my time) is the
Ken's Trip to China page.  I shrank all the photos so it wouldn't take as long to load the page as it used to.  It still takes a long time though.  I'll probably have to shrink them even further.  Dude.  Even loading it PageBuilder (the progam I use to build my pages) took forever because of all the pics.  I don't think I'll have very many visitors on that site.  Probably only people with Ethernet connections.  I haven't added the narration for that page yet because that's going to take a while, but I know I have to do it before the end of this school year.  Because when my Ethernet connection is gone, I probably won't have the patience to wait for all the pics to load up, so I won't work on that page.  Hopefully I'll find time, because the narration is the big part of the page.  You know me and story telling.  =)  Hehe.  But yeah.  Go check out the page so far if you have a REALLY fast internet connection.  If you don't have a fast connection, I suggest you not go unless you want to wait a day or two for the page to load up.  Haha.  Seriously dude.

What else?  Well, I found out I passed my CS 33 class.  Yes!!!  That means I can drop Physics 4BL, and keep CS M51A.  And that means I can post up my schedule online pretty soon.  So expect it to be up soon.

Oh!  And I also fixed up the
MPHS Class of '99 Alumni Page.  It only has one pic, but it's all set up and ready to go.  I even added a little discussion-type Guestbook for the San Jo people to post messages to everyone.  Hopefully that page will be a success.  That's my hope.  We'll see.

Um.  I think that's all the stuff I updated last night.  Like I said, most of the time was spent on the China page.

Yup.  That's it.  Now I can finally get started on my homework ... um ... after I return two of my textbooks to Ackerman ... and after I finish my laundry ... and after we go to 3rd Street.  Um.  Hm.  Okay.  In that case, I'll start on my homework tonight.  =)  Hehe.  Thank goodness it's a three-day weekend.  Whew.  Later!  SIGN MY GUESTBOOK!  =) Hehe (some things don't change) ... Haha.
Sunday, February 04, 2001.  8:28 PM.
Argh.  So much to do.  Argh.  Slowly catching up though, so that's good.  Only 18 days behind now?  Hrm.  Well, I updated the BestofUCLA Birthday Countdown page.  Steve's birthday was on Friday.  Next up is Mishael.  He's gonna be toast.  Hahaha.
Monday, February 05, 2001.  7:29 PM.
Okay.  Updated the BestofUCLA Birthday Countdown page again.  This time I added the girls of Hedrick (Mina, Sarah, Jennifer, and Debbie).  Congrats to them ... 'cause I'm pretty picky about who I put on the page.  =)  Okay.  Gotta go to dinner.  Later!
Thursday, February 08, 2001.  12:03 AM.
Hahaha.  Updated the Birthday Countdown page.  Hm.  Maybe I shouldn't keep reporting that.  'Cause then that'd be the only entries you'd be seeing for a while.  Okay.  I won't do that again. But since I'm here, I might as wish Mr. Mishael Kim a Happy 20th Birthday!  I've known Mishael for almost half of my life.  It's cool that he's still a part of my life.  [sniffles] ... Aw ... =D
Saturday, February 17, 2001.  9:04 PM.
Dude.  What the heck am I doing?  I have a midterm on Friday and rehearsals for all of next week for the Vietnamese Culture Night.  Why the heck did I make another web page?  Argh.  Oh.  Shoot.  Forgot to put a counter on it too.  Argh.  I can't believe I just wasted 2 hours doing absolutely nothing.  Argh.  Gotta go.  Check out the page ... I guess.  The Personal Page of:  Kenneth Chan.
Monday, February 19, 2001.  11:27 PM.
Okay.  When people ask me how in the world I find time to do this, I seriously can tell them I take away time that could have been used for studying or goofing around.  Argh.  This can be such an addiction at times.

But anyway.  Just came on to tell you guys I added a One-Hit Wonders section in my Table of Contents.  These will be pages that are not maintained/updated and that have me on it.  I started it after Jennifer Pichay showed me a page with some guy named Pichay also.  Apparently Jen likes to use search engines to look for herself and/or people she knows.  She even found an artical about Benny relating to Ping-pong, and another on Piano.  So I decided to see if I could find myself.  My best bet was to look for something related to Mt. Pleasant, Track & Field, and CCS.  Surprisingly I got three hits.  To look at them, go to
Ken's 2nd Table of Contents.  =)  K.  Gotta go.  Got VCN coming up this Saturday and a Math 61 midterm on Friday, and Ross's birthday in 28 minutes.  [sighs]  What a busy week this will be.  =\
Tuesday, March 27, 2001.  1:26 AM.
Well, I've finally found the time to update this sucker.  Hm.  When's the last time I wrote in here?  A month ago?  Wow.  How crazy. Well, I know for sure that I was supposed to write in here earlier about the new web page I added.  Er. What page was that?  Um.  Oh.  I know.  I don't think I've made an official name for it yet.  Hm.  I guess now is as good as time as any to think of a name.  Oh.  Actually before I go on, I should start on a new page.  I'm approaching the 4000 mark ... er ... I mean 3999.  Apparently the number "4" is an incredibly bad number for Chinese.  When I went to China, we went to a mall, that had a first floor, a second floor, a third floor, a FIFTH floor (note the fourth was skipped), and so on.  Pretty extreme, huh?  I remember learning it last year when Steve's room was Dykstra 444.  Haha.  But I digress.  Need to switch over to a new page.  Click on the link below and follow me!  =)
