The Update About Updates!
(TUPU)

July 14, 2001

The next update will be in early August. We want to thank one of our readers who translated the inspiring Very Minor Update message into AOnian. The provisional translation can be found here.

For our next update, we will add a feature called "CB Corner" which will comment on the activities going on in Baha'i cyber space. We have found a particularly disgusting message topic on the About.com Baha'i site and we at
Baha'i Angst feel that it is vital for the coming maturity of the human race that we comment on this thread. The comment page will contain sight and sound. Warning - bring your barf bags.

There's been lots of other things going on amongst the CB's that bear commenting. For example, the revolting situation on the Religious Debate list, the lawsuit against National, the recent resignation from the Baha'i Faith of a very prominent Cyber Baha'i, whilst another prominent Cyber Baha'i quit moderating a list out of sheer disgust. Yes, the Baha'i Faith continues to move from strength to strengh, doesn't it?

In coming editions of
Baha'i Ansgt, we will have the Baha'i Dork of the Month. Please though, no more votes for Peter Khan. We are thinking of just outright making him a Hand of the Dorks and thereby putting him into the Baha'i Dork (BD) Hall of Fame (BDHF). Thereby he will become inelligible for future nominations.

Also, we would like to ask our readers to send in nominations for religious organizations that actually do less for the betterment of mankind that the Baha'i AO. I know this is tough, but off hand we think that David Koresh's group probably did less. There must be other oganizations. Put on your thinking caps, do some research, and see if you can find other candidates for the Doing Less for the Sake of Humanity Than the AO Award. (DLSHTAOA). We will send the winner an official congratulatory message from Baha'i Angst.

We are still considering the suggestion that we start selling Baha'i Angst T-Shirts. The proceeds would all be donated to a deserving charity. We kind of thought the idea of having the logo be a picture of Juan Cole standing in front of the seat of House while making an obsene gesture was not appropriate. Now, if the picture had Juan, Nima, and the Reaper all doing this, well then it might be okay. Just kidding. The T-Shirt will be tasteful.

Yes, a lot more is instore. The FWP, which is really a time for reflection on the methodologies to pursue to attain even greater victories for future plans, is starting to pay off. Tune back in during early August.

May the Angst be with you.
July 5, 2001          Very Minor Update!
In preparation for the Five Week Plan, the Baha'i Angst website has embarked on a One Week Plan (OWP) in order to consolidate the hard earned victories of the previous Plans and to prepare the way for "Entry by Troupes" of which the coming Five Week Plan (FWP) is but a pitiful prelude. As we near the end of the first month of the formative period of Baha'i Angst we remain confident that
we are fulfilling a need among the many CB's (check the
acronyms list or you will
mis-interpret this) out there who are ever so Angst ridden. The OWP so far has produced a brief answer by Nima to one of the
wedding questions. We are humbled by the significant progress we have made during the OWP, which is drawing to a close in just a couple of days. Please use the remaining time to add
futher victories to for our beloved OWP.

We've made a major update this weekend. Check out the Acronyms page, Karens essay, questions from a man thinking of marrying a Baha'i woman, plus another feature on Karen - before - during - and after the AO. We also post here, though it is easily available elsewhere, the infamous April 7 letter of the Universal House of Justice. More is yet to come. We have such Angst over not being able to get everything up when we would like to.

Seekers, read the Paranoia Strikes Deep section. It consists of an extract from a document by the Universal House of Justice on the roles of "counsellors" and "auxillary board members" in keeping the rank in file in line. Nothing is better warning against what Baha'i Administration is really all about then its own messages.

Also, many many thanks to those of you who have written in so elequently on your experiences and who are providing
Baha'i Angst with material. There's quite a bit of it, so we at Baha'i Angst are doing some thinking. Therefore, there won't be any major updates for a few days, but defintely tune in this weekend.

We've added some links and also added two sound files to the Khan Job page. We are starting to put in anti-cult links as you will see.  The sound files, which are a little hard to find, add, shall we say, "atmosphere" to the page.   A more serious update is planned for the coming weekend.  Also, rumor has it that the UHJ is going to declare some people covenant breakers soon, we'll post the info here as soon as we get it.
June 24, 2001

We've added a piece under the Seekers Beware section. Seekers should take a look at it.

We also want to continue to thank those who have written to
Baha'i Angst and expressed their support and given ideas. Soon, we will be putting sections on the site for comments on various issues. We are also working on pictures of Karen Bacquet, "before leaving the AO" and "after leaving the AO." The differences were quite dramatic, as you'll see.

Well, we had a musical dream, a vision, some inspirational singing from the nightingale that we wanted to share. So please look at the
Mashriq page. Those thinking of joining the main line Baha'i Faith should take a look here especially, but somehow Baha'i Angst thinks some of you other visitors might find this worth your while. :-)
