The Gamblers Capitalized on Two interceptions to Defeat the Bulldogs 74-48 yesterday.

Two Picks Lead to Gamblers Win

May 21, 2007- After a long off season, the Gamblers (1-0) and the Bulldogs (0-1) made their return to BFL play. In a series that was tied 1 win a piece, it was a huge 3rd quarter for the Gamblers, that allowed Mark to leave with the win

After taking a 7-0 lead, the Gamblers forced the Bulldogs to turn the ball over on downs. Soon, Mark would go up 14-0. Andrew of the Bulldogs would cut the score down to 14-7. At the end of the 1st, the Bulldogs cut the score down to 21-14.

The second quarter got off to a slow start with a long Gamblers drive. The Bulldogs, however forced their first defensive stop of the game and had a chance to tie the score up. The Gamblers would end the Bulldogs drive with a defensive stop of their own. The Gamblers would soon put the ball in. The Gamblers took a 28-21 lead into the break.

In the 3rd, quarter, the Gamblers began to dominate. On Andrew's first drive of the game, quarterback Kenny miss fired and underthrew Andrew in the endzone resulting in an interception touchdown for the Gamblers, and a 16 point lead. On the very next drive, the Bulldogs were forced to a 3rd and 2. This time, Kenny underthrew Andrew again for Marks 2nd consecutive interception touchdown.

With the Gamblers up by 25, points in a matter of a few minutes of play, momentum was clearly in the Gamblers favor.

The Gamblers would later catch an failed onside throw attempt and return it for the touchdown. In the end, it was the Gamblers who would win it 74-48.

Notes:
-The Gamblers improve to 5-2 in their season openers.
-The Bulldogs are now 0-7 in season openers.
-The Gamblers lead the series 2-1 over the Bulldogs.
