Three of comics all-time greats come together to create a unique comics reading experience in THE WRITER'S BLOCK, The Magazine of Comics Writing. Inspired by the current method of

writing adventure comics, three writers are given the same 6 page chapter to script without knowing anything about the plot or being allowed to speak to one another. The authors let their muses take them (and you) on a literary trip that only they could craft. Think of it as a comic book game show . . . where everybody wins!

The gentlemen contributing to the WRITER'S BLOCK are some of comics finest talents:

Jim Shooter: Industry mover and shaker.

Roy Thomas: Marvel Age Master.

Mike Baron: Unique voice in independent comics.

After each scribes' chapter there is a text page wherein each discusses the craft of writing in general and how they approached this assignment in particular.

THE WRITER'S BLOCK is the brainchild of publisher David Miller. David has always been fascinated with what's been called the "Marvel Method" of writing comics and saw this as a unique way of experiencing both the Marvel Method and reading comics in general. It is also a way to gain a deeper understanding of a writer and his craft than is achieved through conventional interviews.

David Miller is a freelance artist and writer. His credits include work for DC, Defiant, Millenium, Crusade, and others. His studio has packaged commercial comics for Apple Comics, Bell Telephone and the Academy for Educational Development. He publishes THE WRITER'S BLOCK through his creator owned imprint: BEYOND COMICS. David has founded a course in comics illustration at the prestigious Corcoran School of Art. In the newspaper industry, he has managed the production departments of The Times/Journal Company, USAToday, The Aspen Institute and is currently on staff at the Washington Post.
