beyond the dogpark
I take my dog Griffin to the local dogpark and reflect on life in the Washington, DC area.  The city is crowded and under constant construction.  The job market is tight, especially in my field of telecommunications.  I enjoy my house, my friends, my job and my hobbies--but it will be nice to leave town.  My sabbatical has been approved and soon Griffin and I will live in "The Chief," our late-70's model motorhome.  I recall how I found The Chief on eBay and I consider the mutual faith that the Wisconsin-based seller and I had shared--with no deposit in place, we met at the Cleveland airport to exchange a cashier's check for a camper.  While Griffin inspects the park's only tree, I tell him about the places we will visit including the Rocky Mountains, Alaska, Los Angeles, Baja California and his hometown in Florida.
