Week 12 Scores

Meek Boys 111
American Looney 59

On a day where the Meeks put up a surprisingly low number
of points, the Loons do exactly the same thing. The Meeks
got 26 from the Tampa Bay defense to lead all scorers.
They also got a combined 45 from snowy Denver where Peyton
Manning threw and Clinton Portis ran. The Loons were led
by Drew Bledsoe who put up only 18 against the Jets. The
Meeks continue their great run and improve to 11-1. The
Loons drop back to a fairly respectable 7-5.

Bemay Gizzards 121
West Texas Mustangs 99

Believe it or not, a 22-point win for the Gizzards
qualifies for Edge Close Shave of the Week this week.
There were a lot of large victories. Stephen Davis ran
for 3 TD's and led all scorers with 30 points for the
Gizzards. Cleveland's upset of New Orleans got Tim Couch
25 more. Amani Toomer got a surprising 22, despite the
Giants' pathetic O, and Mike Vanderjagt kicked in a
beautiful 21 from the snows of Denver. Joey Harrington was
the lone bright spot for the nags with 26 points. The
Gizzards move up to an even 6-6 and pretty much assure
themselves a playoff berth. The Mustangs at 4-8 may very
well be out of it.

WhoDey 130
Pigskin Pipsqueaks 88

In Brett Favre vs. the World, the World won. Trent Green
had a monster day for WhoDey, putting up 50 points and a
nice little 2-point conversion run. Charlie Garner gave
them an extra 28, and Baltimore's defensive smack on the
Titans put up 27 more. Favre was battered by Tampa's
defense and only put up 24 for the Pips. They got 19 more
from Todd Pinkston last night. WhoDey's 4-8 record puts
them third in the division, but still way back in playoff
contention. The Pips' 3-9 mark puts them just ahead of
the Outlanders for making it in.

Mark's Mules 202
Butchers 93

I think the word that best describes this matchup is "OUCH."
Atlanta's 41-0 shellacking of Carolina gave the Mules a
tremendous 61 points. That and Rich Gannon's 3-TD,
51-point day gave the Mules enough to win, but they weren't
done. They fully opened the can of whoop ass with 35 points
from Shaun Alexander and 22 from newly-acquired Jerry Rice.
The Butchers got 34 from Hines Ward, but that wasn't enough
to stop the train wreck. The Mules, at 10-2, assure
themselves a playoff spot. The Butchers' 6-6 record will
probably let them make it, too.

Missouri Manglers 170
Outlanders 98

Not to be outdone, the Manglers got a whoopin' in on the
Outlanders. Priest Holmes AKA "the best player in football"
put up 63 points Sunday afternoon to lead the whole league.
Jeff Garcia's 38 last night was nice frosting on the cake,
as were James Stewart's 22. Aaron Brooks led the Outlanders
with 31 points. The Manglers move up to 7-5, and the
Outlanders drop back to a league-worst 2-10.

McKamikaze Highlanders 146
Dawgs 112

The battle between the top two teams in the Lombardi
Division went to the underdog Highlanders who split the
season series with the Dawgs. Tom Brady's 38 led all
scorers for the Highlanders. They also got 32 from
Terrell Ownes last night and 22 from Tiki. The Dawgs put
up a pair of 29's from Ricky Williams and Jerome Bettis.
They got 25 more from Mark Brunell. Each team has a 6-6
record.
