Week 9 Scores

WhoDey 54
Manglers 143

The WhoDey got off to a bad start by not having a QB who
was playing this week (should have traded for Brad
Johnson!) and things didn't get much better. They did get
31 points out of the Packers DS last nite as they destroyed
the 'QBless' Dolphins. The Manglers got 41 from Jeff Garcia,
and a big day from Antowain Smith with 3 TDs for 36 BFL
points, that was enough. The Manglers are now 6-3 and the
WhoDey slip to 3-6.

Dawgs 83
Mules 96

What I figured would be the game of the week, turned into a
brawl toward the end. The Dawgs had Rickey Williams and
Donald Driver left going into last nights game, but could
only get 9 points out of them. Donovan McNabb was high
scorer in the game with 30 points for the Dawgs. The usually
reliable Rich Gannon only had 21 for the Mules, but that
didn't translate into points for the Dawgs who were playing
the San Fran DS against him, they only managed 7 points.
Fred Taylor left the game with a sore back, scoring zero.
The Mules special teams win this game, David Akers kicks 4
FGs for 17, and the Atlanta DS provides 27 more. The Mules
keep winning and move to 8-1 and the Dawgs are now 5-4.

Highlanders 147
Mustangs 78

The Highlanders get one in the win column on the arm of Tom
Brady with 4 TDs for 51 BFL points, and a huge game by Tiki
Barber with 38. Terrell Owens also had 191 yards receiving
for 21 points. The Mustangs are still looking to sort our
their QB problem, with Steve McNair only scoring 13 points.
Ahman Green had 29, and the Pittsburgh DS added 21, but in
a losing cause. The Highlanders are now 4-5, one game behind
in the Lombardi Division, and the Mustangs fall to 3-6.

Pipsqueaks 82
Meek Boys 134

The usual suspects lead the Meeks to a 52 point victory.
Peyton Manning scored 44, Marshall Faulk with 34, Tampa Bay
DS with 21 and Marvin Harrison with 16. They could have
scored a lot more, 2 players had zeroes, and Eric Moulds
only scored 6. The Pipsqueaks got a great game from Keyshawn
Johnson with 29, 25 from Brett Favre, and 11 from the Miami
DS, but were thin the rest of the way. The Meeks are also
8-1 now and the Pipsqueaks go to 3-6.

Gizzards 69
Butchers 92

The Butchers win their 4th game of the BFL 2002 season with
solid scoring down the lineup. Dree Brees had 24, Moe
Williams had 2 short TDs and yardage for 20, Hines Ward put
up 16, and got good scoring from the rest of the roster.
The Gizzards got 23 from Daunte Culpepper, and 18 from new
found scoring machine Amos Zereous. Randy Moss was held in
check for only 3, and Stephen Davis didn't show in the
stats, so he must not have played. The big surpise,
Cincinnati lit up Houston for a lot of points, but Corey
Dillion's 92 yd rushing only get 9 BFL points for the
Gizzards. This puts both The Butchers and The Gizzards at
4-5 on the year.

Am Looney 100
Outlanders 73

The Looney are the only other team to break 100 BFL points
this week, very strange week. They got 39 from Drew Bledsoe,
19 from both Jimmy Smith and Peter Warrick, and 13 from
LaDainian Tomlinson. Again, this is a team that could have
scored a lot more points, but the rest of the teams scoring
(you will agree, Ed) was meager. The Outlanders got 24 from
Jake Plummer, 19 from the Cleveland DS, and Martin 'scoring
machine' Grammatica kicked in another 15 this week. Like the
Gizzards, the Outlander's Eddie George ran for 95 yards, but
that was only good for 9 BFL points, and David Boston
couldn't get connected with Jake Plummer, he only had 14
receiving yards. The Looney are now 5-4 and the Outlanders
are 1-8.
