Long Time Coming by Becjane
Set in S3 of Buffy, but with LA Cordy/Wes/Angel interaction, as well as a much more interesting Faith. The way Becjane wrote Buffy just reinforced my need to slap some sense into her, but the beautiful way she wrote both Cordy and Angel made it worth putting up with a bit of Buffy.

Cordy's mom is dying, and in a bid to comfort her, Cordy lies and says that she and Angel are a couple. What follows could have been a study in triteness, (if that is actually a word!) but CD manages to make it interesting and funny. This is one story I wish she would follow up on. Especially the hints that Cordy's parents didn't know what had happened to her, money wise.

Set before Birthday, this story features a pre-demonized Cordy and baby Connor. A visit from the Scooby Gang brings to light the fact that the visions are killing Cordy. A fact that she's known about and hidden from everyone. What really got to me, (actually brought tears to my eyes!) was the part where Fred realizes that Cordy has been preparing everyone for her death:
"You've prepared for it, didn't you. That's why you made me learn how to answer the phones, and made sure I knew how to make Angel's blood, and Wesley's tea and Gunn's Cocoa. You were preparing us for your death," Fred sounded like her world had fallen out, "And you made sure Gunn learnt how to do the books, and how to get Wesley to come out of his office, and how to drag Angel out of his room."
It was a question, but Cordelia's face gave her away.
"Oh, princess. That's why you were teaching me all of Connor's favourite things, and how to make Fred stop writing on the wall or . . .you were making sure we were ready for you to die," Lorne said shocked.

YAHF cross with Star Wars - Xander dresses as Obi Wan Kenobi for Halloween, and comes out of the spell with more than a few memories. I really enjoyed this one, I liked how the author took canon and managed to fit Jedi Xander into it.

The Key, The Dark Hunter and the Link by Sevangel
After moving to New Orleans, Dawn quickly finds herself thrust into a new world that feels oddly familiar. Daimons and weres, she can handle; one overly bossy, protective god/man named Ash, not so much. Add in one spoiled demon and you get her new life.
Smart, sexy story. Well developed Dawn, (usually authors make her either too whiny, dependent or too angsty. A great mix of characters from the Dark Hunters book series, and a well thought out plot, just what you expect from Sevangel. My only real problem is her insistence that Buffy and Angel are perfect for one another, but since that 'ship isn't a huge part of this story, I can easily overlook it.

Btvs/Firefly crossover; Start during 'Our Mrs. Reynolds but has a Rayne twist. It continues from there with our 'married' couple. Sexy story, with great dialogue and an interesting premise. I don't want to give away too much, but I will say that the relationships are unique! A wonderful author, and while this is my favorite of Sevangel's Firefly stories, be sure to check out her other work.

Starting with Triumph of AJ Quartermaine, a Carly/AJ fic, this series is well thought out, with several ORIGINAL orignal characters and a rethinking of some old favorites. (Cook is a personal favorite oc!) A definite must read!

Gates of War by Becky
A series that starts off with a retelling of the episode Abyss. Well thought out, follows canon with a few major exceptions that do not take away from canon but add another dimension to it. Jack/Sam romance, but without making it seem too pat or too easy. Usually episode tags or rewrites. I love the way Becky has written a series within the series that focuses on Mini-Jack and his circle of friends. Very entertaining! Scroll down the page to find the Gates series.

This story is excellantly written, romantic without overt romance, sweet without being cloying, and also very funny despite some heavy subject matter. A definite must read!
