This is a test.  It is only a test.
If this were a real, self-respecting website of the BHI Alumni Association, it would not disturb your browsing experience with that annoying ad in the top right corner, nor would it be as poorly designed.  Ideally, it would also have its own bona fide domain name and be equipped with lots of cool little features, pictures and gadgets to help you safeguard your BHI memories and stay in touch with your former classmates.

The site you're currently viewing is the very first step towards the creation of the real and respectable version.  It is the brainchild of your fellow alums who made the following observations:

Many people who promise to keep in touch in 12th grade never see each other after graduation.

After the daily Hebrew lessons are gone, many of us lack a quick, easily-accessible reference for Jewish questions.

The internet is an efficient, colorful, and user-friendly means of communication and information exchange.

These observations marinated untouched for a long time... but eventually 'Voila!' This little site was born.  From its birthday on, it will record the number of visitors who choose to stop by (check out the red-blue numbers in the bottom left corner) and if there is substantial interest, hopefully it will progress to a bigger, better and more personal version.  Of course, it cannot survive without your active participation.  If you have any questions, comments, complaints... but more usefully, pictures, articles, stories, news or gossip, please send them to the
webmaster.  More importantly, if you're an HTML expert or if you have some time to devote to mastering HTML, you can become the next webmaster of this site and bring lots of joy into the hearts of your fellow alums!

Please enjoy this site and spread the word to all your friends.  And don't forget to sign our guestbook.

Thanks for stopping by.  We hope to see you again soon.

DEAR ALUM,
Due to minimal interest, low response level, and pressing external obligations, the webmaster has decided to retire. Retirement wishes, gift baskets and other tokens of appreciation may be sent to bhialum@yahoo.com. This email address will still be checked periodically. If you wish to become the next webmaster, please email bhialum@yahoo.com. No experience or qualifications are required; only love towards BHI. Apologies to our two (or is it three?) frequent visitors. Perhaps this cite will yet see reincarnation. Till then, farewell and best wishes!
UPDATE (Fall 2008):
We have been in retirement since 2006 and have enjoyed these golden years. So much so, in fact, that our email address has been deactivated and our guestbook has overgrown with spam. (We have since reactivated the former and cleaned up the latter.) However, due to the proliferation of facebook and similar networking sites, which have allowed BHI alums to stay in touch, we have received few complaints about these developments. We do not take our obsolescence personally. Really. And we would have continued to bask silently in our fountain of youth, had we not decided to google our dear alma mater one sunny day. Lo and behold, our poor abandoned site is the first hit! This is a lot of responsibility. Responsibility, which, undeserved as it may be, we feel gives us license to share the following unsolicited thoughts with other potential googlers:
*
To alums: if you want to find people, you're better off looking here and here. If you want an official online alum community, ask the administration to support it.
*
To the administration: you may consider creating a website for the school. It's inexpensive. It's convenient. It's practically a necessity in this digital age. You may also consider an alumni board or an alumni association or some other official channel of alumni contact. Sometimes we miss the place. And remembering us may help you on the cash front too.
*
To all visitors: this site was run by a very small number of BHI alums from the last millenium - freelancers and free thinkers. It in no way represents the official views of the school, whatever they may be. Hugs to all.
