All about the author of Virtual Breeding 2....Jane M Johnson |
I am married and live in the southern part of Australia. This should help explain to the many norther Americans why my spelling appears to be "so weird", as has been commented on before! However, in this age of diversity, we all respect that everyone is different.
I have a passion for dogs, and a very low tolerance for people who want to breed them carelessly. Dogs feel pain like humans, but too often they are treated with complete disregard. And some people feel that it's ok to put as little effort in as possible because they are only breeding "pets". Let me tell you this - every one who buys a dog, deserves to have the best that you can breed. And no dog deserves to have crappy genes. No dog deserves to have a myriad of health problems because of human ignorance and uncaring.
I also have a passion for feeding dogs correctly. Of course, this gets the dog food companies annoyed because the CORRECT diet for a dog (and cat) is one that is based on what nature intended them to eat - a raw, natural diet. To read more about this, click here. I will not tolerate dog food companies that insist that humans are incapable of feeding dogs, yet put into dog food ingredients that should have been left at the rubbish tip.
As breeders we carry an enormous responsibility on our shoulders. My best to those of you who strive to do this well. My best to those of you who rescue. Your deeds do not go un-noticed. Keep well my friends.
My thanks also to a close set of friends who keep me grounded. A special thanks to Amy Mullins who supplied me with all of the photos of Rotties. Amy is a wonderful person, despite her inordinate interest in shoes. If there's anyone out there who'd like to sponsor Amy and her shoes, email me, and I'll put you in touch with her. She deserves shoe sponsorship, believe me.
On a final note, at the time of writing this, my son is 4, and I've been married for several years. I currently have 7 dogs and specialise in Portuguese Water Dogs.
