Hi my name is Joycelyn Faith Banks.  I was born on August 27, 1977 in Toledo Ohio.  I was adopted at the age of four months by Rodney and Linda Banks.  I was diagnosed with cerebral palsy in 1978 and Turner's Syndrome in 1981, but I didn't let my limitations stop me from dreaming.    I am now 30.  I graduated from Geneva College in May of 2000 and  obtained my Pennsylvania Private School Elementary teaching certificate two years later.
I am currently employed as a Rehabilitation Specialist at UCP Pittsburgh.  My job, in a nutshell, is to teach adults with different types and varying degrees of disabilites, the life skills that they need to become as idependent as possible.
I was also Ms Wheelchair Pennsylvania 2006.  I have had the chance to travel the state amd meet many cool people., including Miss Pennsylvania USA 2006, Miss Teen USA 2007, Senator Sean Logan (D-PA 45th District). the University of Arkansas Rolling Razorback, men's wheelchair basketball team, an and danced withd a former University of Arkansas linebacker.
I have traveled a long hard road to get where I am today and I've had many helping hands along the way.  In the following pages you will meet some of these incredible people including my family, friends, teachers, and my pediatric medical team.  (Yes, I still go to Children's Hospital at 30.)  You will also meet my sports hero, and visit one of my favorite places Alaska America's jewel.    I built this site to let people know "Keep dreaming, dreams are given to you by God and together with Him you can make them a reality."  Follow the links below to find out more about my incredible journey from childhood to young adulthood.  Enjoy the trip!
