Data Manipulation:
1. Students will demonstrate understanding of doing web based research to find their contact information.
2. Students will learn to do cut and paste to put the information in a word document.
3. Class will build templates in Microsoft Word for use as a classroom.
4. Each student will then build their own template for personal use.

Results Presentation:
1. By the end of the class period the class should have a boilerplate prepared that will allow the class to send off e-mails to all their lawmakers concerning any issue that concerns them.
2. The students will show the letters that they have written individually as well.

Assessment:
1. Students will be assessed for their participation during the classroom portion of the exercise.
2. Students final output will be graded.

Supporting Activities and Activities Post Computer Use:
1. It should be possible for the class template to be saved for future use. 
2. Every time the class discusses current events, they should be able to reach a consensus and send a quick letter.
3. The goal is to keep the students’ participation in the democratic process in the back of their minds until it becomes second nature.
