Our Ceremony

The Ceremony Site, 2 views

Our Ceremony took place at 11:00 am on February 16th, 2002. It was supposed to do a bit of raining on the day of, but we got lucky. It was overcast, but I thought that it would be ok, because the pictures would turn out great, no squinting or harsh shadows! Well, as soon as I stepped off the porch to walk to the ceremony site, the sky opened into sunlight and big puffy clouds. It was the most perfect weather, and I took it as a good omen that the skys parted just as I stepped out of the cottage!!! Well, after too much stressing on my part, we all finally got ready and my parents and BMs walked to the ceremony site from the Gardeners Cottage.

Everyone was seated while the CD "Romanza" by Andrea Bocelli was playing. My cousins sons were ushers and did a great job. Their sister handed out programs and made sure everyone signed the guestbook. When it was 11:00 on the dot, my cousin, the CD guru, started to play the song that would send the groom's party down the aisle. His two attendants walked down followed by Matt and his parents. Matt sat his parents, and then my girls walked, to the same song as the Grooms party. It was Vivaldi: Largo From Concerto for Guitar.

Then it was time for my parents and me. The song "What a Wonderful World" by Louis Armstrong began to play and my parents walked through the gate, and then I barely fit through the gate with my dress! We proceded down the aisle to where Matt was, and the ceremony began. We had the woman that introduced us do a reading for the ceremony, it was the Apachee Blessing. She got some laughs and really relaxed me when she got to the part about remembering what brought us together, and she said, half under her breath but so everyone could hear..."ME!!"

After the ceremony, the wedding party took pictures in the garden while the guests motored away to the Florida State University campus, the the University Center Club. To find out what happened there..go to "Our Reception" please!! Thanks for reading!
