Philmont Training Center (PTC)

Philmont Training Center offers an excellent facility for training in a wide variety of leadership situations, from Junior Leader Training to Scoutmaster and Committee training.

Rayado Men and Women

A "SUPERTREK", Rayado is the most challenging experience Philmont offers. Rayado consists of 20-day treks that are more mentally and physically challenging than the regular 12-day treks. Offered to men and women (not CO-ED treks), Rayado teaches leadership, backpacking and wilderness skills, conservation, and just what YOU can do when you try. Rayado participants often return to Philmont as staff members, as they have proven themselves to have what Philmont is looking for in rangers and backcountry staff.

Cavalcade

Cavalcades are 8-day treks, except they are done on horseback. Cavalcades are a very exciting way of seeing the back country of Philmont.

Trail Crew

Trail crews are limited to older Scouts and Explorers. The crew spends 18 days at a back country work site doing conservation work. Then the crew strikes out on a trek of their own design. This is a great way of seeing Philmont inexpensively.
