Jennifer walked through the mall, just glad to finally be out of the house. Her and Nick just had a baby six months ago and this was the first time she had gotten to escape the responsibilities of being a mother, at least for a little while anyway. Jennifer had left her and Nicks' son, Anthony, with her mother while Nick went to take care of some business that had come up with the guys.
She really needed this break. She hadn't had anytime to herself since Anthony was born, and she was beginning to feel like she would never get any breaks again. Jennifer finally decided that she was hungry so she figured that she would head up to the food court to get something to eat. After a few minutes of trying to decide what she wanted to get, she finally settled on pizza.
When she got her slice, she headed off to find a place to sit while she ate. Jennifer spotted a table and walked over to it. She put her bags on the other chair seated at the table and began to look around. Suddenly, she spotted Nick, and he was with another woman. Jennifer felt her heart break as she watched them sit at a near by table, with their hands all over each other.
This made Jennifer sick to her stomach. She couldn't watch this, she wouldn't watch this. Jennifer got up and walked over to them.
"Nick, how could you?" she said pissed off.
"Jen, baby, it's not how it looks," he said shooting up from his chair.
"Baby!?!?" The other woman yelled.
"Yes, thats what he said. I'm also guessing that he didn't tell you that he has a six month old son either?"
"What!?!" the woman yelled.
"Jen, you don't have to do this..." Nick said.
"Like hell I don't! You cheated on me! God, you can't even admit it after I caught you!" she yelled.
"Don't yell, your drawing attention," Nick said noticing that people were beginning to stare.
"I don't care! You're cheating on me! Doesn't our relationship mean anything to you? We had a baby together, don't you even consider that?!"
"Jen, I don't love her, I love you, baby please, lets go home and talk about this."
"No Nick, there is nothing to talk about! You cheated on me, so that means were over! Here's your stupid ring back!" she said throwing the engagment ring at Nick and then ran off. Jennifer ran out of the mall and to her car where she began to cry. She couldn't believe that he was cheating on her. He was probably in there with that other girl trying to work things out right now.
After a few minutes, Jen decided to go home. She still couldn't believe that Nick had cheated on her, she thought that things were going to be perfect between them. When Jen got home, she remembered that Anthony was still with her mother, she figured that he would probably be better off there anyway. Jen sighed as she heard the doorbell. She hoped that it was someone she was friends with because she really needed to talk to someone right now. When she got to the door, she discovered that it was AJ.
"What's wrong?" he asked noticing that something was up.
"I went to the mall today, and while I was there, I saw Nick and he was there with another woman," she said crying.
"What!?!" AJ said shocked, "Why the hell would he do that? Damn, any guy would kill to be with you," AJ said stepping inside the house.
"I thought he loved me. He asked me to marry him, we even had a baby together. How could he do this to me?" she asked putting her head on his shoulder.
"I don't know," he said putting his arms around her to let her know that he was there for her.
"What am I going to do?"
"I don't know, but I'm here for you."
"Thank you, that really helps."
"Anything to help a great friend."
"That means a lot to me," she said looking at AJ, she was glad that he was there for her.
"No problem," he said with an over whelming desire for Jen. She just stood there, with the same feeling. Moments later, AJ and Jen began to slowly move into each other. Before they knew it, they were kissing. Jen wasn't sure why this was happening, she used to have a thing for AJ, but she had out grown that, at least she thought she did.
Jen never could have known that AJ felt the same way, at least she thought he did otherwise he wouldn't be kissing her. Jen wasn't sure if she should be kissing AJ like this, she just found out that her fiance was cheating on her and she was already all over someone. It wasn't like he probably wasn't all over that other girl. That's probably where he was at that moment.
AJ pulled away from Jen and stepped back, "I'm sorry, I shouldn't have done that."
"No," she said, "I'm glad you did."
"What," he asked, confussed.
"I mean I loved Nick, obviously if I was engaged to him and gave birth to his son, but he cheated on me, so I can't trust him anymore. Not only that, but he doesn't love me anymore, if he did, he wouldn't have cheated.
"I agree."
"So why dwell about this?"
"Not a clue."
"Good, she said and smiled at him. He smiled back at her, maybe this wouldn't be so bad after all.
