Chapter 11

When we got there, like every other time, we were told to wait. That had to be the worst part of all of this because I had to sit there when Nick could have been in danger. I hated it. On the ride over, I had told myself that was going to ask for another officer to be assigned to the case. I didn't like how Hudson was handling it.

It must have been almost a half hour before Hudson came into talk to us, which futher pissed me off. Didn't this guy care that someone might be dead?? I sure as hell did, but I guess he was just too stupid to see that. I wonder how the hell he got to be an officer in the first place. He obviously didn't care about the people that were involved, including the victim.

"Hello Miss. Miller, Mr. Littrell," he greeted only me and Caitlin and didn't even seem to care that Howie and AJ were there.

"This is Mr. McLean and Mr. Dorough," I said to officer Hudson, motioning towards AJ and Howie.

"Hello gentalmen," he said shaking their hands. That was better, I thought. At least now he was a little bit more tolerable, for now anyway.

"Jordon told me that he had planted Carters cell phone there because we wanted us to do a search of the area," he said to us, "aren't you glad that we didn't do a search?"

I heard AJ mumble something under his breath. I knew it was probably one of those infamous McLean comments so I didn't bother to ask him what it was. I'm glad that officer Hudson just brushed it off cause I know it would have started a fight.

"What I want to know is how you knew that the phone was planted," I said.

Officer Hudson looked at me and smiled, which set something off in my mind. Now I really didn't like this guy, "Did you really think that he was going to tell us where Carter was?" he asked.

"Yeah I did, what's wrong with that?" I yelled.

"Mr. Littrell, please restrain yourself or I'm going to have to have you removed," he warned. I just continued to stare at him coldly when he started to talk again, "this time he gave us an address to where Carter is. He wouldn't say weather or not he was hurt, but he did say this is where we would find him. I'm going to go over there, but I'm asking that you stay behind because we have no idea how the scene looks and I don't want you guys to see it if it's gruesome."

"Alright," Caitlin said, "but I want to be informed about everything when you come back. I don't want to be left in the dark."

"That's completely understandable and you will be informed, I promise you," he said smiling at Caitlin. I didn't like the smile that he had on his face. It was more than a friendly smile if you know where I'm getting at. Man was this guy asking for it. He continued to smile at Caitlin as he walked out of the room.

"I don't like that jerk," AJ said.

"I don't either," I told him, "there's something strange about him. Did you see the way he looked at me when I asked about Nicks phone? I honestly think he knows more than he's telling."

"I can't believe he pretended like me and AJ weren't here. There is really something up with the creep," Howie said.

"I'm going to be right back," I said, "I want to see if there is any way that I can get another officer assigned to the case because I don't know how much more of him I can take."

"I'll go with you," AJ said. I nodded and then me and him were off. I wonder what Caitlin thought about officer Hudson. There was definately something about that guy that just didn't seem to be right, I just couldn't quiet place what it was. While me and AJ were walking, I spotted officer Davis and told AJ that she had been help before and that we should go see what she knew.

"Officer Davis," I said to her.

"Yes Mr. Littrell, how can I help you?" she asked politely. I liked her a lot more than Hudson.

"Can you tell me what you know about Hudson," I asked sitting on a chair by her desk.

"I don't really know much about him to be honest. He's new around here. Why what do you think of him?"

"I don't really like him. He's been giving all of the hardest time about this whole thing," I told her, "he doesn't seem to know what to do."

"What do you mean?" she asked.

"When we got word that Nicks phone was found, he didn't send out a rescue squad or anything. He just said that it was planted, and today he called us to say that Jordon had admitted that it was planted," I answered her. She looked at me like she couldn't believe it. "Not only that, but when I asked him about it, he gave me this grin, like.... like he knew what was going to happen before it did and I didn't like it. Also, I've caught him giving Caitlin these looks like he was cheeking her out or something."

"Okay, I'm going to try to get another officer assigned to your case. Hudson should have sent out a search party regardless of what he thought. Carter could have been out there. Also, he's just not handling the case the way he should be."

"Thank you officer Davis, that's really going to help us," I informed her.

"Thank you for telling me about this. I knew Hudson wasn't exactly on the ball if you know what I mean but now I have something to back that theory up. I'll talk to the boss and tell him that you guys want him off the case, and if worse comes to worse, I'll see if I can take it on."

"Again thank you," I said holding my hand out, she took it and shook it, "I don't like that guy one bit."

"I'm going to let you in a little secret, neither did I," she smiled. I stood up from the chair and turned around to face AJ.

"Let's get back to Caitlin and Howie," I said.

"Yeah, lets go," he said and we walked off. It would be better if we had officer Davis on the case rather than Hudson. She seemed like she cared more about the people and that she was the tell it like it was kind of person.
