Chapter 23 Jen sighed as she looked through the window in her room. Two long days had past, though to Jen, it seemed like years. She couldn't help but wonder if AJ felt the same way. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't find the courage to call him. Her pain was still fresh; obvious to the world. Jen hadn't talked to anyone but her mom. She didn't want to talk to anyone. No matter how hard she tried, she couldn't figure out why she was letting this get to her like she was. Jen's attention turned to the door when she heard her mother come in. "You have a phone call," her mom said holding the phone out to her. "Hello?" Jen said after taking the phone. Her mother smiled and walked out of the room, closing the door behind her. "Jen, it's Biran. AJ told me about what happened, I wanted to see if you were alright," Brian said. "I'm just a bit upset, but otherwise I'm alright, I have my mom to help me." "That's good. Look, I want you to know that AJ's hurting too. He won't admit it, but you can tell. Call him, talk to him. I think it would benefit the both of you." "Yes, I will." "Jen hold on a second, I'm at the hospital right now and Nicks doctor is here. I want to talk to him," Brian said. "Alright," Jen said realizing how much Brian cared about everyone around him. Boy is Leighanne lucky Jen thought. Brian was one of the few people left in the world that cared about others. "Jen, I'll call you back. Nick came out of his coma." "He did. But okay, I'll talk to you later," Jen said strangely relieved that Nick was okay. "Yeah, take care and CALL AJ!" "I will bye." "Bye." Jen sighed and looked at the phone. Should she call him now? She really wanted to talk to him just to see how he was taking all of this, or at least what he would admit to feeling. Finally she figured she should call him because she wanted to talk to Brian again. "Hello?" AJ said. "AJ." "Oh, Jen hey." "How's it going? How've you been?" "It's been alright, I've been alright." "Yeah so," Jen said not really sure whatelse to say. "How's Anthony?" "Good, good." "So I guess, I'll uh talk to you another time," Jen said. "Yeah okay," he said hanging up the phone. Jen sighed as she hung up the phone. She messed that up badly and she knew it. Jen got up and went down stairs to hang up the phone. "I'm going to the hospital to see Nick," Jen said surprising her mother. "Hold on, you're gonna see Nick?" her mother asked confussed. "Yeah he came out of his coma and I wanna give him a piece of my mind." "Oh alright," her mom said as Jen walked to the door. Chapter 24 |
