Chapter 8 *~*~*~Two months later*~*~*~ Nicole had been experiencing a lot of stomach pains lately, and she had been throwing up. Nicole thought that she might be pregnant, but she wasn't sure how to tell her mother. She was afraid that her mother would totally freak, and she probably would. She figured that it was now or never, "Mom," Nicole said walking into her mothers room and saw her sitting at the computer doing something for work. "Yes," she said turning away from the computer. "I have to tell you something but you have to promise that you won't get mad at me." "Of course honey. What is it?" "I think that I might be pregnant." "WHAT?" her mother said shooting up from the chair, "how could you even possibly be pregnant?" "Well, the day you called and told me that I had to move back to New York, me and Nick decided to make our last night together special and, well, you know." "How could you?" "Mom, I was 18 when it happened, that made me an adult." "How many times did you sleep with him?" "Just the once," she lied, they had actually been sleeping with each other for the past year, "but thats my bussiness." "Ok, I'll make you a doctors appointment and we'll she what happens from there," her mother said. "Yeah fine," she said walking out of her mothers room and went into hers where the phone was ringing. "Hello?" she said answering it. "Hey Nicole," Nick said. "Nick, hi." "How've you been?" "Ok, I'm just not feeling to well." "Why whats wrong?" "Nothing, probably just a cold or something." she couldn't tell him that she could possibly be carrying his child. She wasn't sure if he would still want to be in her life if he knew. "Oh alright. So hows New York?" "It could be better, if you were here." "How about I call you next time we are going to be in New York? Maybe we can hang out." "Ok that would great." "Nicole, I have to go. I'll see you around." "Ok, c-ya." "Bye, I love you," he said and she hung up. She couldn't believe that she didn't tell him. She was always able to tell him everything and anything. It was probably because she didn't want to lose him. Nicole laid on her bed and let tears roll down her face. She was scared, she didn't want to be a mother, not yet anyway. After a while her mother came in and saw her crying. "Nikki, are you going be ok?" her mother asked. "I guess." "Look, I was mad earlier. I shouldn't have yelled at you. You're right, you are an adult and you made an adult choice. If you are pregnant, I'm going to be there for you and so will Nick. I know because he is a great boy." "I'm scared." "I know you are and its ok to be. I made your appointment, we can go first thing in the morning." "Ok." "I'll see you in the morning, ok." "Ok mom." *~*~A week later*~*~ Nicole was sitting in her mothers room watching her work. Today was the day that they got the results of Nicoles test, and they were both scared. Nicole more than her mother because she hadn't told Nick, but if she wasn't pregnant, why should she get him all worried about nothing. "How are you feeling?" "Scared." "Yeah, thats natural." They fell silent again. Finally after about another ten minutes the phone rang and her mother reached to get it. "Hello?" she answered. Nicole just sat and watched, this might not that been the doctor, "uh-huh, thank you. I'll be sure to tell her." Thats what made Nicole sure that this was it. "Well?" she said. "You're pregnant," her mother said seriously. "Oh my god." "Yeah." "I need to be alone," Nicole said and went to her room. She sat on her bed and started to cry. This was going to be hard for her, and at that moment she decided that she had to tell Nick. He had to know about this. He was the father, and he had to know. Nicoles mother walked into Nicoles room and sat on the bed next to her. "Nicole, maybe you should call Nick. He needs to know now. Also, I know that he loves you and I know how close you are to him." "Ok," Nicole said through her tears. "I'll give you some privacy." Nicole reached over and pick up the phone and slowly dialed in Nicks number. She heald her breath as the phone rang and she waited for Nick to answer. "Hello?" he said. "Nick.. its me," Nicole said. "Hey there, whats up?" "Nothing, I just needed to talk to you." "About what?" he asked. She suddenly realized that by telling him, it would ruin what he had worked so hard for, his music career. Thats what she decided that she wouldn't tell him. "Nothing really, I just wanted to hear your voice, I miss you," she said closing her eyes to keep the tears from flowing. "I miss you too. So you feeling any better?" "Yeah, a lot." "Great. Anything interseting happen to you yet?" "Nope not a thing. I've like hardly left the house." "Baby girl, how are you supposed to make friends if you are keeping yourself locked inside?" "Its harder then I expected," she admited. "Yeah well, you have to promise me that you are going to get out there and meet people like you wanted to." "Ok," she said after hesitating. "No, I want you to say it." "I promise that I will go out and meet people." "Good," he said and smiled. "I love you," she suddenly said. "I love you too baby girl. Look, I'm sorry to cut this short, but I have to go. I'll talk to ya later ok?" "Yeah ok." "Bye." "Bye," she said and hung up. She sighed, what was she going to tell her mother? Her mother thought that she was telling Nick. She would just have to tell her mother that he was angry and didn'w want to talk to her. Just then, her mother knocked at her door. "Can I come in?" "Yeah," she said. "Did you tell him?" "Yes, and he doesn't want anything to do with me any more," she lied feeling the tears take control of her eyes. "I'm sorry," her mother said, "I'm going to be here for you." "Thank you." Chapter 9 |
