*~*~Later that Night*~*~
Nick hadn't left Nicoles side since he found out that she was leaving him. She was only girl that had ever given him a chance, and she was everything that he was looking for in a girl. He loved her and he knew that he would never be able to replace her. Not that he would ever want to.
"I can't believe your leaving," Nick said.
"I know me either."
"Your the only girl I've ever loved and will ever love."
"Nick, don't say that."
"I mean it."
"Look, you will find someone else."
"Why do we even have to break up?"
"Because long distance relationships don't work. That and you are always touring, I would never see you. It wouldn't be worth it."
"What do you mean it wouldn't be worth it?"
"Nick, I love you, but I don't think we're ready to put so much time into a relationship. I think that we should see other people while I'm gone."
"I don't want other people."
"Nick..."
"Is this because I asked you to marry me?"
"Baby look, I love you, but not enough to marry you at least right now anyway. Second, I don't want to feel like I am holding you back. You see other people, and so will I. It's for the best. I don't think we are dedicated enough to make it last."
"I do."
"But I don't, so please don't make me feel any worse about this. It hurts already."
"Do you even care that you're hurting me?"
"Yes, Nick I love you. It's just I'm trying to make this as painless as possible for the both of us."
"Your not doing a good job Nicole."
"I know," she said with tears in her eyes.
"Please don't cry," Nick said wiping her tears away.
"I don't want to go. I want to stay here with you. I need you. Nick, please don't let me leave," she suddenly said.
"I don't know what to do."
"Just hold me," Nicole said crying. Nick kissed the top of her head. This was driving him crazy. He wanted Nicole to stay with him, but he wasn't sure how to do that. The only thing that popped into his mind was asking her to marry him, but she told him no.
~*~*~*The Next Morning~*~*~*
Nicole woke up and looked over at Nick who was sleeping next to her. They had decided to make their last night together special. No matter what she said, they both knew that they really loved each other and hopefully they would be together again.
In the end, they had decided to see other people. She thought that it would be best. She didn't want to have to go out of her way to keep in touch with Nick and she knew that it would be hard for Nick to stay in touch with her no matter what.
"Nick," Nicole said, trying to wake Nick.
"It's morning already?"
"Yeah," Nicole said with tears in her eyes. Nick wasn't sure what to say. He was hurting inside, and he knew that she was too. There was nothing to say to make either of them to feel better.
"I love you," Nick said looking at Nicole.
"I love you too," she said crying. Nick pulled her into a hug, he wasn't sure whatelse to do. He held her tight, he knew that this might be the last time that he would be able to hold her. He was trying to hold back the tears that were starting to form in his eyes. He had never loved anyone like he loved Nicole.
"We're still going to be friends right?" Nick said still holding her.
"The best," Nicole said.
"Don't forget about me."
"I could never forget about you, but maybe you should go. I'll call you just before I leave."
"Ok, you better," Nick said getting dressed and leaving her room. Nicole watched him walk out and cried even harder then before. She couldn't believe that it was over, especially like this.
Nicole got up and got dressed, she didn't even bother to take a shower because she knew that it would be pointless because all she would have done was cry. She looked around her room and began to pack her things away.
*~*~*~*Later that afternoon~*~*~*~*
"Look Nicole, you have to go," her mom said watching her daughter cry. She knew how much Nicole wanted to stay.
"Mom, I want to stay here with Nick," she said with tears rolling down her face.
"I'm sorry honey, you can't."
"I hate you," Nicole said full of anger, "You always make me give up everything for YOU! What about ME?? I'm happy here and I'm in love with a great guy, how come we just can't stay?"
"We can't." Nicole looked at her mother and then ran to her room. She wouldn't help but cry. Soon after Nicole thought that this couldn't get any worse, she heard a knock at her bedroom door.
"Who is it?" she asked.
"Nick."
"Come in," she said after a moment of hesitation.
"How are you feeling?"
"Terrible," she said as Nick hugged her again.
"I love you, and remember I'll be a phone call away from you."
"I know, but I can't believe that I'm actually leaving."
"Me either..."
"Nicole!!!" her mother yelled interupting Nick.
"WHAT???" she yelled with more attitude then her mother liked.
"We are leaving in ten minutes," her mother called up. Nick looked at Nicole as her eyes began to fill with hurt.
"I want you to remember that no matter what, I will always love you, no matter what happens, no matter how far apart we are. My heart will always be with you. I love you," Nick said.
"I love you too," Nicole said. Nick pulled her into a hug and kissed her check.
"Lets go!!!" Nicoles mother yelled up to her.
"I gotta go," Nicole said to Nick.
After their final good byes Nicole and her mother took off. Nicole was still mad at her mother and would be for a long time, she wasn't about to forget this moment.
