Anthony Head- A Biography

After high school, he worked for his father's company for a year as an assisting editor, then joined the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts where he stayed until 1976. He got his first show business break playing Jesus in "Godspell" and went on to star in a number of West End theater productions, including "The Rocky Horror Show," "Julius Caesar," "The Heiress," "Chess," "Rope" and Peter Shaffer's "Yonadab" at the Royal National Theater. Anthony Head then took a bold step and moved to LA to boost his acting record but this were slow. Instead of moving back to England he auditioned for the role of Giles in Joss Wheadons "Buffy - The Vampire Slayer" and the rest is, as we all know, TV history...... In the middle of season six from Buffy Anthony Head moved back to England to be closer to his family. He starred in the successful BBC series "Manchild," which is a British version of "Sex and the City," albeit from the male perspective. He also appeared in the critically acclaimed "Spooks," with Matthew MacFadyen, Peter Firth and Jenny Agutter, about the British spy organization, MI5. At the moment he plays the British prime minister in the wildly successful comedy series "Yes Minister!" and we are all still hoping for that promised "Ripper" series by Joss Wheadon... Head is not married. When he was 28 he met Sarah Fisher who was then 18. She is a former theatre administrator and now an animal trainer. They have lived together for the past fifteen years and have two daughters: Emily Rose , who was born in 1989 and Daisy May (born 1991). He divides his time between Los Angeles and England, just outside Bath. His
hobbies include singing, playing guitar and piano, scuba diving

Stuart Head was born on 20 February 1954 in in Camden Town, North
London, England. Head grew up in a "show business family"
in Hampton, England. His mother Helen Shingler, an actress, is
best known for her role as Madame Maigret in the BBC series "Maigret."
His father, Seafield Head, was a documentary producer who created
the British production company known as Verity Film.
