"The
Funboys are Dead...Long Live the Ballbreakers!"
Teams: Ken (Talala Funboys), Mike (Boynton
Ballbreakers),
Mike H. (Lamont Luckyboys), Robert
(Vinita Outpatients)
april 22nd - The saying that "All Glory is Fleeting" certainly applies to the Funboys of Talala as reality hits them harder than Hasim Rahman's right fist against Lennix Lewis' jaw. While the pride of Talala only won two games, they did tie the equally pathetic Vinita Outpatient's and force a five-game playoff for third place. Which Talala swepted in three. Meanwhile the highly inconsistant Ballbreakers bounced into the playoffs thanks to an almost indescribably great talent pool. The Luckyboys also made it into the "Big Series", but they lost thier best player to the Funboys in the last regular season game. Despondant and wanting their mommies (well, maybe it wasn't that bad), the Luckyboys managed one playoff win, but succumbed to the far superior Ballbreaker assault. "That'll teach em' to come to our side of the state." boasted the incredably cocky Ballbreaker coach Mike L.

Ballbreakers massacre
Luckyboys
4 - 1
"The
Funboys win! The Funboys win!...What? Again??"
Teams: Ken (Talala Funboys), Mike (Boynton
Ballbreakers),
MIke H. (Lamont Luckyboys), Robert
(Vinita Outpatients)
april 21st - The first of a featured doubleheader, this contest was marked by the Talala Funboys marching into the playoffs without making a single trade or draft. Only the second time in league history has this happened. Anyhoo, the visiting Luckyboys from Lamont battled to a third place finish. This was mainly due to the ironically named Boynton Ballbreakers sitting in the cellar with only a single victory. So pathetic was their play that the Outpatients' worst player, Rosalind ("The Queen of the Ice") managed to score a goal against the Ballbreaker's tiny wonder Willie Winzig. The Outpatients' charged into the playoffs, only to be outplayed by the always dangerous Talala Funboys. This marks the fifth victory by the boys from Talala this season.

Championship Series
Funboys defeat Outpatients
4 - 2
March 31st - The Mighty, Mighty Funboys finally faced reality tonight as they plummit into the celler for the first time this season. "Well, we didn't have any talent, but we made up for it by playing poorly." said Ken. His team managed to tie Ross's Twisters to force a five game playoff for third place. But they were destroyed in three straight games. There was little joy in Turley, however, as the Twisters could not recuite the talent quickly enough to place better than third. It was the underachieving Outpatients from Vinita that broke through and outpaced the Ballbreakers to reach the playoffs. The Championship match was a fierce one as they split the first four games. But the relentless pummelling of the Ballbreaker goons that sidelined Vinita's best players. The Pride of Boynton won the next two games and championship. The coach of the Ballbreakers then grabbed the mike and yelled to the Outpatient fans, "Do you feel that! Huh??!!"

"A
Returning Star!"
Teams: Ken (Talala Funboys), Mike (Boynton
Ballbreakers),
Robert (Vinita Outpatients), Ross (Turley
Twisters)
March 3rd - The Once-Thought, Long Gone Boynton Ballbreakers and their leader Mike, made a suprise appearence in tonight's lineup. Hopefully, they can get in three games before the season is over with. However, the roaring Talala Funboys may make Mike's reemergence moot as Ken's team wins their fourth game of the season. With Rex off to "T-Town", the burden was left up to Robert, Mike, & Ross to break Ken's amazing streak. But, it was not to be as the Funboys took the lead early and landed in the playoffs. The unlucky Outpatients couldn't put a decent team together and finished in last. The Twisters & Ballbreakers traded went back and forth throughout the season, but it was Mikey who made it to the championship game. And the Ballbreakers were in fine style as they overpowered the Funboys in the first game. However, Talala won the next four to take the title.

Funboys defeat Ballbreakers
4 - 1
"Funboys
win one for the Winzig!"
Teams: Ken (Talala Funboys), Rex (Liberty
Duckcreekens),
Robert (Vinita Outpatients), Ross (Turley
Twisters)
February 22nd - The Talala Funboys managed to stave off a surging Liberty Duckcreeken team for their third win of the season. Coming off a sub par outing in the last match, the Funboys put together a strong line-up to win the last six out of seven challenges to forge their way into the playoffs. Unfortunately for the Vinita Outpatients, they could only manage one win. Despite the presence of two 'goons' on their team. The Turley Twisters were strong enough to tie the Duckcreekens for second place, but lost a best of five 3 games to 1. The championship match featured a knock-down brawl that eliminated both goons from both the Funboys and the Ducks. While Liberty were strong enough to win one game, they couldn't hold off the Funboys and lost the best of seven, 4 games to 1.

Funboys defeat Duckcreekens

"Duckcreekens
on the March!"
Teams: Ken (Talala Funboys), Rex (Liberty
Duckcreekens),
Robert (Vinita Outpatients), Ross (Turley
Twisters)
February 14th - Oh the party in Liberty must be reaching full tilt, as the mighty Duckcreekens win their first contest in team history. Their road to victory was not easy as the Funboys got off to a quick start, only to bog down due to a lack of quality players. Despite the presence of the Funboys #1 Player Willie Winzig, Talala finished no better than third. The newly named Turley Twisters (formerly the Windjammers) battled hard. Despite winning a scoreless game in OT (a first in PP League History), they could do no better than fourth place. The Duckreekens plowed into the playoffs followed closely by the thugs from Vinita. However, the Outpatients' plan of "gooning" Liberty's best players in the championship series backfired as the Duckcreekens swept the first four games to win.

"Talala
Strikes Again!"
Teams: Ken (Talala Funboys), Rex (Liberty
Duckcreekens),
Robert (Vinita Outpatients), Ross (Wilson
Windjammers)
January 31st - What a Night! This was one of the most exciting contests in recent memory for the rambuncious yay-hoos from Talala. As the Funboys did what no team has ever done, they played a "pure" contest ("pure" means no trades or drafts). This time, it was Robert's Outpatients who had a hard time getting out of the starting blocks, and, despite an improving line-up, could finish no better than last. The Duckcreekens have obviously done some practicing on the side, and held on to second place until late in the contest. Crawling out of the pit was Ross's Windjammers. Who managed to tie the "Ducks" and sweep the first three games of a Best of Five eliminator, only to face the red-hot Funboys for the Championship. Both teams lost thier star players in the first game (the Funboy's Willie Winzig had scored in FIVE regular season games before being slashed), but the Windjammers held steady and won the first three games...Only to lose the next four as the Funboys eeked out a nearly impossible victory. Both teams were heavily worn down by the end as only a few decent players were left to enjoy the post-series celebration.

"Tha
Thunder from down...Talala!!"
Teams: Ken (Talala Funboys), Rex (Liberty
Duckcreekens),
Robert (Vinita Outpatients), Ross (Wilson
Windjammers)
January
19th -
Well, since we didn't play enough games last season, we have no defending
champion for this new milleneum. However, that didn't stop the enthusiam
for this season as three craggy veterans take on a newcomer in Rex for
the distinction of winning the first game of the new year.
Rex quickly began drafting
and trading to improve his sorry team. This only led to the rest
of us challenging him relentlessly until Robert's Outpatients took an insurmountable
lead and blasted his way into the playoffs. Ross's Windjammers tried
valiently, but couldn't overtake the Funboys for second place.
The seven game championship series was a classic as the Funboys, outmatched
and without any personality, split the first four games with the Outpatients.
Then eeked out the next two for the victory.
