Chapter 51

Her arms wrapped around his neck, pulling him closer. His hands framed her face, pressing himself into her as he laid her back gently on the bed. Sliding down her neck, down her arm, he reached in between them, grasping hold of the belt holding her robe closed. Tugging lightly, he undid the loose knot she had tied. Slipping inside, Nick traced soft lines up and down her side relishing the smoothness of her body. "Catlyn," he murmured as her hands found their way under his shirt and were moving over his chest and stomach. Burying his head in her shoulder, he tasted the sweetness of her skin. "I want you so badly," he whispered in her ear, as he kissed down her neck and her shoulders.

"No…I…I can't," she said softly, pushing him away. "I'm…sorry," she whispered sitting up, wrapping her robe around her tightly.

"I don't understand." He looked so lost and confused. "What did I do?"

"It's…it's not you. I just…can't. It wouldn't be right," Catlyn shook her head. "Could…could you please go?" she asked refusing to look at him.

"Sure," he mumbled standing up and walking towards the door. He turned to look at her one last time before walking out.

"Oh god," she cried softly curling up in a ball on the bed. Soft words from the radio made their way to her ears, causing her to hurt even more.

AJ wandered the beach, lost in thought. He couldn't understand what it was about her that drove him so crazy. He'd met some exceptionally beautiful girls in his travels. He'd slept with some exceptionally gifted partners. But something about her caused his heart to thump wildly, his palms to sweat, his voice to quiver and crack. She set something off in him that he didn't even know was there. And it bugged the hell out of him. Kicking at the wet sand, he continued to walk thinking about Kyndall. Thinking about her smile, her voice, her touch, everything about her. And now she was with Howie. Who was in love with her almost as much as he was. It killed him to think that she might fall for him. God knows she had every reason in the world to. Howie was perfect for her. Sweet, understanding, attentive. He'd never in a million years dream of running back to an ex-girlfriend. Not if he was in love with someone like he was with Kyndall. "But I love her," AJ sighed. "I know it now and it's too fucking late to do anything about it."

"Well, Mr. Dorough," Kyndall smiled at him, playing with the buttons on the front of his shirt. "I must say that I've had a most enjoyable evening. Even if it wasn't with the person I originally came with."

Howie smiled. "I had fun, too." Pausing as they walked in front of his door, he looked at her. "Do…do you want to come in? We could watch a movie or something. Unless you're tired."

Kyndall smiled. "Sure. I can come in."

Howie winked as he slid the card in, unlocking the door. "Make yourself at home, I'll be right out," he said walking into the restroom.

Kyndall sat down on the bed, picking up the remote. She flipped through the channels, stopping briefly on MTV. She had slid her shoes off, and was leaning back on her hands, her legs swinging softly off the end of the bed. She smiled over at Howie as he walked over to his suitcase. His shirt was unbuttoned, and his belt was undone hanging loosely from the front belt loops. The top button of his pants was undone as well, an unintended invitation that caused Kyndall bit her lip and looked away as he looked for some clothes. She peeked over to find him smiling at her oddly. "What?" she asked.

"Just wondering what you're thinking," he answered softly walking over to where she was sitting. The T-shirt he had grabbed from the case was balled tightly into his hand.

"I…just…that you are incredibly sexy. Tortuously sexy," she whispered. The drinks that she'd had at the club slowly taking affect, causing her to speak before she thought.

"Oh really?" he asked, raising a brow. Kyndall nodded slowly, looking up at him as he moved closer to her, his lips inches from hers. "Tortuously sexy, eh?" Kyndall nodded again, as he kissed her softly. "Now you know what I feel," he whispered pushing her back on the bed, their kiss deepening.

Kyndall's hands moved of their own accord, her mind numbed by his nearness, by the rush of feeling that came with his kiss. She pulled his shirt off from him, tossing it across the room, her fingers moving lightly over every muscle, every inch of skin now exposed to her.

Howie was kissing every bare patch of skin that was revealed through her shirt, tasting the sweet heaven that he never thought he'd get to experience. Reaching underneath her, he slowly untied the cords holding her shirt on, pulling it off from her gently, dropping it to the floor. Staring in awe at her, he blushed when she laughed softly. Dipping his head, he took an erect nipple in her mouth, sucking and teasing it with his tongue. Her fingers slid through his hair that he had taken down from his ever-present ponytail. His mouth moved to tease the second nipple as he had done the first. His kisses traveled downward towards her stomach, his tongue tracing light patterns on her skin. Making his way back up to her lips, he caught her in a feverish kiss.

Laying back slowly as she moved over him, he closed his eyes memorizing the feel of her lips on his skin as she kissed across his chest; sucking, licking, and tasting every inch of him. Moving down towards his stomach, her tongue traced lazy circles around his navel, dipping in. She smiled as he groaned with pleasure. Her mouth moved down further, to the waist of his pants. Her fingers slid under the waist, causing the zipper to slide down opening it up more. She slid her hand along his hardened shaft, causing his breath to catch and his eyes to fly open. Her mouth replaced her hand as she teased him through his boxers.

"Oh God," he moaned as her hand slipped inside to grasp hold of him tightly. "Kyndall," he whispered as her lips found his. He gently pushed her onto her back, looking deep into her eyes. Something in the way she looked at him, caused him to stop and pull back. Taking a deep breath, he moved away slowly and shook his head. "I…I can't. I'm sorry," he said looking away from her.

"Don't you want to?" she asked reaching a hand to his face, turning it towards her gently.

"More than I've ever wanted anything in my life." The look of sadness, longing and desire he gave her tore at her heart. "But…I can't. I can't do this…not to AJ…not to you…not to me."

"What does it matter about AJ?" she cried. "He had his chance, and threw it away."

Howie sighed. "Yes, but he still loves you Kyn," he shook his head at her expression. "And I know you love him. And this," he waved at the bed. "This would be a one-night thing. And I…I don't think that I could handle that."

Kyndall looked at him, her eyes bright with tears. "I'm sorry," she whispered grabbing her shirt and pulling it on slowly. "I'm…I'm sorry." She said grabbing her shoes and walking out the door. Not wanting to be in her room, she made her way downstairs. Walking down to the beach, she couldn't really see much, her vision blinded by the tears that were falling slowly from her eyes.
