"So, you're telling me that you kicked Nick out of your room, even though you wanted to finish what ya'll started?" Kyndall asked, taking a bite of her toast.
Catlyn sighed. "Yes. Don't give me any lectures on how I should open up to him and let him be all that no one else could be. It would never work between us. I'd only end up being hurt or hurting him. I just…I don't want to deal with it."
"Fine," Kyndall said holing her hands up in defeat. Wiping her mouth with her napkin she shook her head. "I just sometimes don't understand you."
"So, what's up with you and AJ?" Catlyn asked changing the subject.
Kyndall looked at Catlyn, silently studying her. Biting back a comment, she sighed. "What do you mean?"
Catlyn shrugged. "When did ya'll get cozy?"
Kyndall laughed. "Cozy?"
"Yeah, cozy," Catlyn grinned. "You didn't come back to the room last night, AJ calling you this morning, ya'll getting mushy over the phone, the sickly sweet dreamy look you have on your face."
"Enough already," Kyndall giggled. She then launched into the tale of how she and AJ had run into one another on the beach. Catlyn listened as Kyndall described the argument that she had gotten into with AJ.
"Dude," Catlyn said, her eyes wide. "You said that to him?"
Kyndall nodded. "He deserved it."
Catlyn laughed. "I'm not saying he didn't. I just…well, it surprised me. Anyway, finish," she said waving her hand at Kyndall.
Kyndall laughed and continued her story. "And then he left me sitting in his room while he disappeared for thirty minutes."
"He begged you to give him a chance to talk to you, and you did, an hour even. And he leaves you for half of it?" Catlyn asked, amazed.
Kyndall nodded. "But he came back," she grinned and finished up her story.
"Wow," Catlyn murmured. "Didn't think he had it in him. I'm quite impressed. And I'm glad that you're happy," she smiled.
"Oh, I'm happy," Kyndall grinned. "I just can't believe it's happening."
Catlyn nodded. "Wanna go shopping? We have," she looked down at her watch, "three hours before we have to be at the fairgrounds."
"Sure," Kyndall shrugged. "Nothing else to do. Besides, I wanna look extra special for AJ tonite."
Catlyn laughed. "Darlin, I seriously doubt he's going to be paying attention to what you're wearing."
The girls stood up, leaving money on the table for their food and drinks, and walked back to their room to get their money. They called a cab to pick them up and went downstairs to wait for it. "Hey," Kyndall said pulling on Catlyn's shirt. "Isn't that Justin Timberlake?" she pointed to a tall guy with fuzzy blonde hair standing in the corner talking to an odd looking guy with reddish colored hair.
"Yeah, I think so," Catlyn nodded, taking off her glasses to get a better look. "Yeah. I'd recognize that nappy 'fro head anywhere. Looks like Pillsbury is with him"
Kyndall laughed. "You are so mean," she said.
"Well, it's true. Oh god," she groaned. "Here he comes."
"Hello there," Justin said walking up to them.
"Umm, hi," Catlyn said unimpressed.
"Couldn't help but notice you staring at me," he grinned. "Take it you're here to see us perform?"
"Actually, no. We're here with-"
"Sure we are," Kyndall interrupted, elbowing Catlyn in the side. "Ya'll are great."
Justin grinned at her. "Here," he said taking a piece of paper off from the desk. Jotting a number down on it, he handed it to Catlyn. "Give me a call later. We're having a party after the show tonite. I'd love it if you would go with me."
"I'm busy," Catlyn said flatly handing it to Kyndall. "Maybe she'd like to go with you," she grumbled walking outside.
"Feisty one isn't she?" Justin asked watching her walk off.
"You have no idea," Kyndall smiled. "It was nice meeting you. I'll see you later," she said walking towards the door.
"I'm sure you will," Justin waved, walking back over to where Joey was standing waiting for him.
"I cannot believe you talked to Keebler," Catlyn exclaimed as Kyndall walked over by her.
"What was I supposed to do? Tell him that he's a fuzzy headed elf looking creature?"
"I would have if you would've let me," Catlyn pouted as they climbed into the cab.
"I know, which is why I didn't let you talk," Kyndall shook her head. "Don't you think the guys have enough problems with 'Nsync without us making more?"
"Whatever," Catlyn shrugged.
"Besides," Kyndall grinned. "I think he likes you."
"Oh god," Catlyn groaned. "Just what I need," she said rolling her eyes in disgust.
