Better known to his fans at Scotty, James Doohan was born in Vancouver B.C. in 1920. His first novel is called The Rising and is volume one of The Flight Engineer series. Volume two was just released called The Privateer. Both novels were co-written by  fellow Canadian, S.M. Stirling
