 1813Battle of Vittoria. Wellington routed the French. Victorious troops stopped upon reaching the French baggage train plundering upwards of a million pounds in gold coins.
 1916Battle of Carrizal. Pershing routs Mexican regulars on his way to attacking Pancho Villa.
 1942British surrender Tobruk to the Afrika Korps.
