YOU do have to be in some good shape to pedal the 5 + 5  Kilometers dirt road in La Jarda. A good dual-suspension Mountain Bike would help A LOT. A hard-tail bike is ok though.

Along the route you will find both the Blue Ponds and Clear Pond -and caves- in this natural reserve.
This mountain bike adventure ride is located South the Higuey-Punta Cana Road, 5 Kilometers West from Veron's traffic light. The entrance is behind a workshop.It takes you also to La Jarda's caves, wetlands and cliffs

The old church to your right
ONE of the amazing things along this route is an old church and a ghost town stuck in the lower part of the valley.

The original inhabitants came from the center of the island in the earlier 50’s and live, there, for 40 years. Then, with the tourist boom, moved out.
