Adventurers´ Adventures |
BAVARO-PUNTA CANA |
Enjoy a different Eco-adventure traveling with veteran architect and photojournalist Robert Mena, now in assignment for the local hotel association to discover the hidden paths of the Guavatico Savanna, less than a Mile to the West from the beaches. The expeditions will cross -with a minimum of equipment- on foot, extended rough terrain, looking for underground water holes, caves, paths...endangered trees or flowers, exotic birds and...original settlers. We certainly will find razor-shape rocks, cactis and...the sounds and smells of the forest. |
ONLY four-people groups. Thursday and Friday late afternoons. Expeditionaires will need to use long pants and proper shoes. Since we cannot supply beverages, please bring at least 2 bottles of water per person plus some energy food. Bananas are the best, and you can find them in your hotel or, in the little colmados (local grocery stores) of Bavaro. Caps or hats are mandatory. Insect repellent also. ABSOLUTELY NO ALCOHOL OR TOBACCO!!! Trekking/biking under the Caribbean sun for some time will raise camera, binoculars and/or film temperature. Please take adecuate measures. These activities are for friendship ONLY. We do not have charges, fees or tipping. |
The new 3-Mile backroad -heading Northwest - built by the Bahia Principe Club & Resort, opened the savanna to adventure. |
