IN MEMORANDUM
Memories

She was not one to give up,
She was a fighter.
Old, though she was,
She was still full of energy.
That was my tutor.

She loved to talk about the ‘old days’,
But she was gone before I really understood what they were like.
It is an unfinished jigsaw,
Pieces missing, never to be found.

She taught me so much,
I’d known her so long.
No pictures to remember her by,
Just memories.

I see her now,
Hiding her pain, her troubles,
As she leaned herself heavily on the piano to raise herself.
She lived until the end,
She lived life to the fullest.

Memories are all that remain,
Of dear Cissy, friend and teacher.
To whom I never said “Goodbye”.

All is over, all is ended,
I will never finish the jigsaw.
She is departed from this world
But still in my mind.
I’ll never forget her,
She still lives on.

Remembrance

Don’t know how to start,
You were such a wonderful person.
Someone who really cared
About me and the others.
You were kind and forgiving
Though you had to be strict at time.

I miss your company,
Your friendship,
Your special ways.
Though I rarely showed it,
You were someone I loved dearly
Like a grandmother.
No-one can take away my memories.

Though others may move on
And forget you
I will treasure your ways
And my memories in my heart forever,
For you were a special person.

What happened was unfortunate
But was expected.
I’m sorry I never said goodbye properly
But I’m not ready for that.
You’re still alive
As long as you’re remembered.

I’ll love you always
Even though you’re departed from this world,
Your spirit lives on.
One day I will make you proud,
I’m sorry you won’t be here
To witness it,
I miss you so much,
Rest in Peace.
