Her writing has appeared in the magazines Veg News, State College, and German Life as well as online at Raintaxi, McSweeneys, The Readers' Corner at Elle, and PopMatters. She writes both fiction and nonfiction about a variety of subjects. Though her focus has thus far been on travel, food, books, music, and pop culture, she also enjoys covering politics, environmental issues, health and fitness, women's issues, and other subjects.
Her work as a writer, language editor, and proofreader for business and technical publications includes a PhD dissertation in cryptology, the English translation of a public relations professional's website, marketing materials for real estate agent Jo Tenz, and the German Umweltbundesamt or Federal Environment Agency's 2005 State of the Environment report. She is fluent in German and is currently studying Spanish.
