Where Would I BE without my Funny FurBalls ???
Prince Gabriel in his Sleeping Spot {one of them, anyway!}
There's a lot of information on this page, as well as pictures,
as long you're willing to wait for Geocities to load it all!
My other cat besides Colby, my fiesty black cat,
is Prince Gabriel,
a Ragdoll I adopted from a breeder in
North Carolina. His birthday is January 30, 1998.
The Ragdoll is a unique breed
which became available in the late sixties, largely due to an eccentric California woman, Ann Baker.
There has been a little confusion about the Ragdoll's True origin, but it is pretty much accepted that Ann Baker bred what was believed
to be a white female Persian-type cat to a Seal Point Birman. Then,
one of the male offspring from this breeding was then bred to a female Burmese.
This was the foundation for the Ragdoll.
But much more recently, about 1995, investigations lead some to believe that the Ragdoll's beginnings were somewhat different, which somehow had included a black Persian from the East.
And now... About My PRINCE GABRIEL....
HERE HE IS!
He is fawn colored, with a dark brown mask, ears and paws.
This is known as a 'Seal Colorpoint' pattern. There are a few other different patterns available, and all are equally magnificent. Prince Gabriel is a VERY sweet cat, with an aura of mischief about him. He is very Fluffy and I do try to brush him out once a week, just to make him stretch and and roll along the carpet in his happy-kitty-ecstasy-world.
He knows when to expect me home from work and waits for me by the front door, then proceeds to meow and meow and rub up on my legs until he trips me; thus achieving his goals for the day and is content... : )
It seems that Gabriel has gotten more playful as he has grown, possibly due to getting used to surroundings and people etc.
Gabriel is also pretty neurotic about the scratching post we have hanging on a doorknob in my bedroom. It is actually quite a nuisance, since it has those little noisy bead-things inside of it which wakes me up at all hours of the night. But Gabriel adores it and would probably act some revenge out on me if I removed it. That's a pretty good example of how a person tends to be owned by their pets!
