| Rest in Me Rest a while, dear child, in my sheltering arms; Come apart with me, and find your peace in me; Fear not what life brings your way-- Just trust yourself to Me today. Remember that I AM in the midst of the storm and that I once calmed a tumultuous sea! Oh, dearest child, come apart and rest in ME. Fear not the waves surrounding nor the dark and angry skies, just keep keeping on--your eyes looking neither to the left or the right... not to the clouds nor to the night... Just continue looking at ME! I will answer in time; I will answer--you shall see! Endure for a season... don't use your human reason... just rest yourself in Me... And how do you do that, you say? Only one certain way-- read my Word, get on your knees and pray; Come, be alone with Me today! Believe my Word to be true-- My mighty hand will move for you! Watch and patiently wait, be assured, I won't be late! Just keep trusting Me, and, behold you shall see your certain delivery... For, I Who once parted the Red Sea will bring you the Victory!! |
| Hang on Loosely Hang on loosely--never too tight, For the world's values are never right! The Lord has ordained a time to let go; The losses we face are the way we know It's just temporary after all... That's what happened after the Fall! Adam and Eve brought sin to this earth, Thus giving death its gruesome birth! Oh...then to have this in view-- that no matter what we can do, the Lord has ordained the day for us to finally go away. We have an appointment to keep, and any tears that we may weep won't prevent this final bow. So...let's make the most of Now and heed the voice of our Lord, obeying and loving His Word. For...the only thing that really stays is following in His divine ways; We can walk in calm security-- knowing for a certainty our time of passing will be the best for us eternally. He, our Lord, will usher us through that shadowed valley of death to sit us with Him in His domain; never to sorrow or be hurt again. We have a home prepared there, built by Jesus with loving care-- specially furnished for you and me by the hands that fashioned Eternity. Linger in the Valley Linger in the valley-- Don't try to run through; Just try to discover What God is teaching you! Go take a moment of quiet repose' Stop your squirming and squalling-- Strike a peaceful pose! Then...ask the Father, "What should I see? What are you telling me?" For, dear brother, dear sister, Whenever we are in a place where we can't move left or right and it looks like we'll miss the race-- Just let your mind be still, Know God is perfecting His will!! He's trying with His holy might To open the eyes of your heart; For...there's something, somewhere, somehow, He certainly wants to impart! After all, it's a principle so true-- He's going to bring you through that valley, When He has finally gotten through to you!! |
| Walkin' on the water If you're gonna walk on the water you better keep your eyes on Him; For when you walk on the water, you don't have to swim! Problems may abound like stormy waves of the sea, but when you walk on the water your vision is clearly free! Selfish rebellion won't take you down, And circumstances won't make you drown! Just keep on looking straight ahead-- And soon you'll be led safely to where you really need to be-- walkin' on the top, not sunk in the sea! So...remember, my friend, just keep your eyes on Him-- For, walkin' on the water sure beats having to swim!! |
