Oh! What a wonderful time of the year. I just love November
and December. The smell of holiday food cooking, the smell of
all those spices simmering on the stove. From Thanksgiving to
New Years I have the "Scents of Christmas" throughout my home.
This puts everyone who enters my home in the Christmas Spirit.
You can make changes if you like. I have used extracts, dried
orange peelings, dried apple and cinnamon sticks also for a
change in scents. Here are the spices I use as my base. The
kids will be asking you what is cooking.

Scents of Christmas

1/2 kettle of water
3 tbsp cinnamon
3 tbsp cloves
2 tsp. nutmeg
2 tbsp apple pie spice
2 tsp. ginger
6"x6" square of gauze

Put ingredients in the center of gauze, gather into a small
pouch and tie off with thread. Put pouch into kettle with
water and bring to a boil. Lower to a simmer and enjoy
the "Smell of Christmas". Add more water as needed.
