We hope you have had a wonderful summer and are now ready for your new Kin year.
First we want to thank the Charlotte Fundy Kin Club for the wonderful job they did hosting National Convention “Jig East” in Saint John in August. The convention was a huge success with old acquaintances being renewed and new friendships being made during the week. This was an enormous project for their Club that was two years in the planning before the actual event. The Charlotte Fundy Kin Club certainly deserves a round of applause.
During the business sessions of the National Convention the National Board withdrew their proposed resolution to eliminate the Deputy Governor positions within the Association. This was a resolution that was a hot topic and it will probably be back on the floor this year.
In our Zone we have 2 Kin Clubs, 4 Kinette Clubs, and 6 Kinsmen Clubs. We have completed our first installations at the Charlotte Fundy Kin Club on September 9th and will be conducting installations at Nashwaksis Kinsmen and Kinettes on September 23rd and Miramichi Kinsmen on September 30th. We hope to be able to have the installations completed by mid November.
Remember Fall Leadership Convention ‘Broomsticks & Tricks FLC 2006’ is being held at the Citadel Halifax hotel Oct 19, 20 & 21. The Sackville Kinsmen and Kinette Clubs will be hosting FLC 2006.
We will be having our Zone Seminar at the Charlotte Fundy Kin Club on October 7th at 1:00pm-4:00pm. We invite all executive members to attend as well as any other members who are able to do so, as this will be an educational session for everyone in our Zone.
We have a great Zone team and they are all anxious to start this Kin year off on the right foot. Our executive consists of Wayne MacQuarrie, Membership director, Morris Harris, Service Director, Karin Avery, Tides director and Fred Stuart, Co-ordinator. They have some great information to share with you at the Zone Seminar so please make every effort to attend

As is evident from these numbers we have a problem in Our zone.
We must come up with a way to keep old members and entice new ones to join.
After all, as the membership falls, so do your service dollars and possibly the loss of your clubs charter if you fall below the legal requirement as set out by National.
So bring your ideas to your membership director’s attention, and maybe together we can make this
Association bigger and stronger than before.
