CLAMBAKE 2007

MAY THE CLAM BE WITH YOU!

The History of the CLAM

Many eons ago, before recorded history, after Georgian Bay was formed, (then known as Georgian Puddle), a few green amoebas crawled ashore near Vail's Point. These single-celled slugs slithered down Hog's Back road and up the Ninth Line.  Even then they sensed a destiny with what would later become the Meaford Tank Range. After many splitting of cells with a variety of locals who themselves came from the primordial ooze of various counties these creatures were further shaped by inbreeding and the oddly warm waters near Bruce Nuclear. Eventually standing hunched on two combat boots, they fought in rough formation down through Indian Reserves only losing the few that were too close together...  They trained in armouries with little bitty parade squares that seemed to be owned by the shortest but loudest green guy with a patch of thingy on his arm.  Sometimes they were caught sweating across farmers fields covered in poison ivy and mosquito bites, but still they struggled on towards their ultimate goal.
