OBEDIENCE
I have always had a desire to do Obedience with my dogs.  When I acquired my first show dog in 1999, here was my chance. Not being able to attend classes, I bought a book on training for the ring, and away I went.   "Roo" (shown on my 'boys' page),who was just barely 2 years of age, proved to have a 'willingness' to learn, and was very forgiving of all the mistakes I would make over the coming months of training. I started showing Competitive Obedience  in 2001. We  set out to accomplish what I had only dreamt, we as a team were capable of doing.  In our first show, we scored a 192 out of 200 possible points, and a High In Class Award in Novice A.  Our second show, we scored a 191 1/2, and a High In Class Award in Novice A.  Our third time in the ring, our score was 190 1/2, and another High In Class Award in Novice A!  We had completed the 'Companion Dog' Obedience title.

It was at this point that I knew I was hooked on the sport of Competitive Obedience.  The summer of 2002, we completed a Herding Instinct test, and  Canine Good Neighbor certification.

2003 was the start to the next faze of competition, the 'Open' ring.  Within 6 months, "Roo" and I were sporting a new title - Companion Dog Excellent.  We had  managed to acheive 5 High In Class Awards in Open A, and won a Collie Club of Canada  booster award.  How exciting it was to find out that we were the #1 Obedience Collie in Canada for 2003,  2004, and 2005 !
#4 Obedience Collie in Canada for 2006.
#3 Obedience Collie in Canada for 2007
#3 Obedience Collie in Canada for 2008

"Roo's" official titles
In January of 2003, 2004, and 2005,  "Roo" and I won the award for Highest Scoring Collie at the Alberta Sheltland Sheepdog and Collie Association Specialty.

"Roo" was also Highest Scoring Collie at the Collie Club of Canada National Specialty in 2004.

Boy what a ride it has been!
"Roo" did his first Rally Obedience trial June 17 and 18, 2006.  We finished our Novice title in 3 trials with 2 scores of 200/200.

He also has now finished his Rally O Advanced title in September, 2006!!!

Roo finished his Rally Excellent, August, 2008.

Roo finished his CKC Rally Novice Title in Summer of 2008
At 1 year of age, "Sage", passes her Herding Instinct Test, and obtains her Canine Good Neighbor Certificate.   Our first appearance in the Novice Obedience ring in January of 2004, landed us a score of 189 1/2, winning a Collie Club booster award, and the first leg of our Novice title. She then took some time off to deliver us a wonderful litter of 8 puppies!  Back in the ring soon after the pups went to there new homes, we acquired our second leg with a score of 180 1/2, even though "Sage" was not yet feeling her old self.  "Sage" did not let me down though, in December we finished our Companion Dog title with a 194, and a 195 and High In Class!
The newest face to join our Obedience team is "Grace"After completing a Canine Good Neighbor test at 6 months of age, we tackled herding, and received our Herding Instinct test at 10 months of age.  We took some time off to have puppies, then, at 3 years of age, Grace completed her CKC Pre-Novice title.  Summer of '08, Grace completes her CKC Novice Rally title with a final score of 98/100.
I have met some great and amazing people through Obedience and I enjoy the camaraderie of great competitors that are supportive and encouraging to all, no matter what level you are at!
