Herding with Collies

In 2002, Clearwater Collies co-hosted a Herding Instinct Test, with certification through the Collie Club of Canada. We had over 60 dogs, of assorted breeds in attendance.  Fun was had by all and I hope to one day be able to host another event.  Pictured, are just some of the dogs that stayed to the very end on the last day.  All proceeds were donated to the Collie Club of Canada.

Clearwater Caught You Lookin' PCD, HIC, ptd (Grace)

Grace is showing nice style at 10 months of age.  This was her first exposure to sheep.  I was able to circle both ways, with her staying nicely 'out' from the sheep.

Clearwater's Gone and Done It HIC, ptd (Will)

Will's first time with the sheep at 10 months of age. He worked very intensely.  I found it hard to keep him off the sheep, but had no problem going in either direction.

Will and Grace completed their Herding Instinct Test with the Prairie Sharks Club of Calgary, at 15 months of age.  They both now have an HIC title behind their names.
