Dear Mr. Gates:

Date: Tue, 19 Sept 2006 10:57 WesternIndonesiaTime Subject: Message from Ex-Communist Sympathizers
Although recently I used to work these letters in the Internet Shop, every now and then I often create my own folder in the computer of the Internet Shop to save files for easy future retrieve to furnish my next letters. Because usually it would be faster to retrieve files, especially photos, from computer than from the Internet, since the down load from Internet would sometimes takes longer time.
Saturday September 9, 2006, I found some strange files inside my folder. It were the files from SBKA, Serikat Buruh Kereta Api, or the Labor Union of the Train. The title is [Mayapada Prana] [Doc. Sejarah NKRI] MENYATUKAN DIRI MEMBELA REPUBLIK INDONESIA oleh alm. GONDOPRATOMO. I have no idea what was the meaning of Mayapada Prana, but the rest of the words have the meaning of "Documentary of the History of Indonesian Republic United Country, Getting United to Defend Indonesian Republic by the late Gondopratomo". It was a letter by Mira Wijayakusuma, regarding the "SARASEHAN PERISTIWA MADIUN 1948, Holland, 19-20 Oktober, 2002", a seminar held in Holland on October 19-20, 2002, with the topic about the Madiun Incident of 1948. According to the history book learn by Indonesian student for years, Madiun Incident of 1948 was a first attempt of rebellion by communist party. The second rebellion took place in 1965, ended up with the took over of the government by Major General Soeharto, followed by the prohibition of any communist activities in Indonesia, and most of the communist party members and sympathizers became the political detainees for years. Since the reformation era of 1998, there were some changes regarding the point of view toward the history, including about communist rebellion of 1948 and 1965, since most of the political detainees were released form the prison. Some says that the history books learned for years were not telling the truth. And the letter of this Mayapada Prana could be one of those objecting the truth of the history books. Up to this point, I just thought that it has nothing to do with me, it as just a mistake by someone who mistakenly saved it in my folder. On the other hand, it also contains the words "Information about KUDETA 65/ Coup d'etat '65, click: http://www.progind.net/ , http://oocities.com/lembaga_sastrapembebasan/ . The name "lembaga sastra pembebasan" and the "seminar of SARASEHAN PERISTIWA MADIUN 1948, in Holland on October 19-20, 2002" reminds me with my friend Herry Latief who is now in Holland. He is also active in the "sastra pembebasan" or "literature of freedom" website, and a few weeks ago he contacted me by phone mentioning that he is now a member of PDIP branch in Holland. PDIP is the political party of former president Megawaty, the daughter of Indonesian first president Bung Karno. Since it was like related with some other strange occasions, later on I also saved a copy of that letter found in my folder that day, of course in Indonesian language, in my homepage at http://www.oocities.org/amfir_mmvi_bd/others_fot/ka_mgwt_sep06/Copy_of_Mayapada_Prana.htm
Monday, September 11, 2006, I went to Lenteng Agung to buy a roll of canvas in some kind of home industry producing canvas for paintings. On my way back, when I was riding an "angkot", a public transportation car made of a mini van, approximately a third of the distance, the driver asked me to move to another car behind, because no other passenger in his car except me, and he would like to got somewhere else. A round two minutes later another car came, and I went in. The front seat beside the driver has been occupied by an old man so I took a seat in the passenger cabin at the back, whereas there are two long bench facing each other. Another passenger was a woman, followed by some others joined in along the road. While driving, the driver has a conversation with the old man beside him. Among which the old man mentioned:" My friends form the junior high school and senior high school all have already own cars, but I don't......" The driver answered: "That's good, it means you are living modestly, like Bung Karno.....that's why he is still having so much admirers up till now....." Up to that part, I began to think that it could be a fabricated moment arranged toward myself. Especially since in the door for the passengers, there were the letters of "ISAL" written vertically, like reminded me with my brother Faisal who often told me to borrow his car whenever I needed. The problem is I feel more comfortable to ride a public transportation, except when it is really urgent like when I need to take a large painting somewhere. But this time, the driver's mentioning Bung Karno, I think it was more than about car, it was about some kind of suspicion that my living modestly could have a political background of trying to take the sympathy of the people, especially the middle lower people, like Bung Karno, the first Indonesian president who claimed himself as a proletariat.
Thursday, September 14, 2006, on TV there was the news about train accident at 15.00 in the afternoon, nine train coaches rolling out of the track in Sidoardjo, East Java, no death casualty, only some injuries. At the same day, another train accident at Pasuruan took place on 12.00 in the afternoon, a two wheel buggy pulled by a horse called Delman was hit by a train, six people death. Now it began to make me wonder, was there any connection between those two train accidents with the letter about SBKA, Serikat Buruh Kereta Api, or the Labor Union of the Train, that all of a sudden entered my folder on September 9, 2006.
Friday, September 15, 2006, in Kompas newspaper, there was the news about PDIP, the political party of former president Megawaty who is also the daughter of the late Bung Karno. Apparently on Thursday, September 14, 2006, PDIP was officially inaugurated the members of the body for the winning of the election 2009. Whether or not the event was related with the two train accidents on the same day in East Java, of course I have no capacity to investigate.
But after all if there have been some kind of messages for me through all of those occasions, I herewith clarify that I clearly understand the message and I have no intention to run for president in 2009. Anybody who wants to distribute their admirations on Bung Karno, please funnel it to former president Megawaty who would run for president again in 2009.
