Subject:  Shaking to Release the Rear Brake of Aveo

Sunday 20 May 2007 in the morning around eight, my sister and my niece were preparing to go. When they started the car, a compact car Chevrolet Aveo, it was stuck, the rear brake were jammed so the car was unable to move. They took another car instead.

It was not the first time the hand brake caused the rear brakes stuck like that. Previously it had happened two times. The first time, around more than one year ago, it caused me to call the service station to send their mechanics. And it appeared that the solution was simple, after opening the tire, using a hammer, the mechanic knocked the rounded steel outside the drum brake several times in many parts, and the brake was released.

When the second time it happened again a few months ago, I tried to do like what the mechanic did, but I failed. Then my brother in law handled it, hitting it harder with a hammer, and it worked.

On that Sunday 20 May 2007, I felt responsible to solve the problem again. Yet since I thought it was still in the morning, while the problem could be easier to handle in the afternoon when the air has been much warmer, so I left to go to the Internet shop. In the afternoon after finishing my work at the Internet shop, the rain began to fall and gradually getting heavier, so I had to wait in the foodstall nearby a mosque for more than an hour. When the rain began to abate, I took a ride on the bicycle to the nearest bank to fill my cell phone with pre paid fee, yet the rain was getting heavier again so I have to wait again for a while in the bank. Later on when I was at home again it was too close to the dusk so I postponed the handling of the brake problem.

In the evening my brother in law came and tried to handle it, but this time he failed, the brake was still stuck.

Tuesday afternoon, 22 May 2007, after coming home again from the Internet shop, I tried to handle it. But it was not easy, even the nut and bolt of the wheel were stuck. After I sprayed with WD 40, and hit the lug wrench with a hammer, the nut and bolt were still stuck, all four of them. After I lift up the back of the car using a hydraulic trolley jack, I found that only the brake of the right rear wheel that was stuck.

Wednesday 23 May 2007 actually I was planning to go sending two letters, to Mr. Rinaldi by hand and to Mr. Agus by post. The two letters have been prepared since Monday 21 May 2007, yet as usual I sometimes prefer to use my intuition about whether or not I should send it. And on that Wednesday morning my plan was to go early in the morning, but I postponed it and instead I handled the brake problem again.

Once again I sprayed the nut and bolt using WD 40 then hit the lug wrench with a hammer, and it still stuck. Then came an inspiration, I tried to push the car from behind, since the brake was still stuck so it was like shaking the car from behind. After around ten times, the car suddenly moved forward,………. I have released the brake.

It made me going out riding the car to buy some materials for my sister who was busy wrapping some gifts for the door prize of her gathering event with her friends. Also I use the opportunity to send my two letters, one by hand and the other by post.

Subject:  Shaking to Cure, Toward Firmansyah=Erry

An important thing about the above story of "Shaking to Release the Rear Brake of Aveo" is that it has nothing to do with shaking anybody’s position especially political position. Because it was about shaking the car to relief the stuck of the rear brake.

Moreover, it enabled me to have the subsequent moment of sending the letter to Mr. Rinaldi which has another important thing than just about painting. The older brother of Mr. Rinaldi is Mr. Erry Firmansyah, who reminds me with my old friend in the neighborhood during my childhood, my teenager days, and early adult.

Among my friends in the neighborhood when I was a child, a teenager and an early adult was Erry Sudaryo. I have spent so many interesting moments with him, since the time when I was in the elementary school becoming a member of the boy scout in the neighborhood, with his older brothers as the Explorer to guide the much younger children boy scouts. And in nmy teenager time when he and I and the other friends of the neighborhood spent time together, having chitchat in the day and night, visiting some teenage parties, and so on.

On my early adult, I spent some times with Erry by developing a small printing business, producing T-Shirts, books, stickers, banners, for university students events.

A few years ago after I never met him again for so many years, I heard the news that Erry Sudaryo had died.

So now that I have a chance to offer my paintings to Mr. Rinaldi and his older brother Mr. Erry Firmansyah, is like to make a similitude of my fate with my old friend the late Erry who had died a few years ago. Because the name of Mr. Erry Firmansyah is like having the maeaning of Firmansyah=Erry.

Subject:  Escorted Upstairs at Penang Bistro

On the way back after sending my two letters on that 23 May 2007, at around two o’clock, I took time to stop by at Penang Bistro, a restaurant at Pakubuwono Street nearby Apotik Melawai, where according to the invitation made by my friends they held a monthly gathering there.

It was a two story restaurant building. I entered the front glass door, and greeted by a female receptionist. At the inside of the restaurant there were several people having lunch on a long table, like usually the monthly gathering of my friends, but none of them looked familiar to me.

The receptionist mentioned a name of a company and asked me whether I was from that same company. I replied that I went there for a gathering of Gemilang 77. She took a glimpse to the reservation book, and answered: "It would be at four o’clock in the afternoon…."

It was then I realized, when I read the announcement of the monthly gathering I was not reading the time, I thought it would be at 12 o’clock. Whiile four o’clock would be two hours later, since I got there at two o’clock.

"I could lead you upstairs if you would like to see the place reserved for your friends gathering this afternoon….." the receptionist walked to the stair, I followed her from behind. It was on the second floor that my friends reserved.

"Sorry that air is still hot here, because we keep the air condition off, no other guests allowed to get here, to prepare it only for your friends in the afternoon…."

Hmmmm, it sounds more like Paris Hilton’s words "that’s hot"……..

I left the restaurant to get home, and canceled my plan to attend the monthly meeting there. And I thought it was more appropriate for me, to get upstairs earlier than my other friends, escorted by a female who told about the hot air like representing Paris Hilton, commensurate with my consent to move up to the eternity alone by myself with the help of Paris Hilton as my bridge to heaven.
