Kanu leads Portsmouth to FA Cup win

By Mike Collett

Reuters - Saturday, May 17 05:34 pm

LONDON (Reuters) - Portsmouth won the FA Cup for the first time in 69 years on Saturday when striker Nwankwo Kanu's first-half goal secured a 1-0 win to overcome the spirited challenge of Championship side (second division) Cardiff City.

The first final not to feature one of the current 'big four' teams since 1991 was initially open and adventurous, given a magnificent backdrop on an overcast day at Wembley by both sets of noisy fans making the most of a rare moment in the limelight.

The goal came after 37 minutes when midfielder John Utaka whipped in a low cross from the right and Cardiff's on-loan Finland goalkeeper Peter Enckelman could only push it into the path of Nigerian Kanu, who fired it straight back past him to make amends for an earlier miss when he hit a post.

The result of this year's FA Cup becomes significant for me, not only because it was held on my birthday of 17 May 2008, but also because the only one goal was scored in minutes 37. The number 37 was long known as the license plate of Russian embassy cars in Jakarta, the "CD 37". So it was like related with my previous letter of "Paris in Russia and the Toyota Rush", whereas I wrote :

".......Monday 21 April 2008 when I was on my way to the Internet Shop, there was a Toyota Rush with the color of an egg shell, parking in front of a photocopy shop. Then came a thought in my mind, if I should realize my plan to make a land journey throughout Indonesia with my own fund obtained from someone, a Toyota Rush would be find for me, since it consumed low fuel.

Later on when I was in the Internet Shop and browsed Paris Hilton photos, I found her photos during a visit to Russia......."

Moreover, the goal was scored by Portsmouth's player Kanu, whose name sounds a little bit like "can you".  So the message for me was like "Can you rush your consent......"

It was a long way for both teams to reach final match of FA Cup again, it was Portsmouth's first Cup final since 1939, and Cardiff City's first since 1927, so I should not fool around with their rare historical moments. Like I wrote in my previous letter of "FA Cup 2008 Final Match: Cardiff vs. Portsmouth", this FA Cup 2008 final match is important for me since one of the teams, Cardiff, has the name that sounds like related with my consent to move to the eternity through a car accident. For me, Cardiff sounds like "the car that will die Firman".

Subject:  Searching for "CD" Diplomatic License Plate

License plate for Corps Diplomatic cars in Jakarta has white background with black letters and numbers. It begins with letters CD, then a space, and two or three digits of numbers representing the country, a space again, and two or three digits of numbers again. This CD 59 18, means that CD 59 is New Zealand, and 18 is the staff's car. The New Zealand ambassador's car is CD 59 01, other than ambassador is other than 01. CD numbers for other countries are different,

CD 12 is United States, CD 14 is France, CD 15 is United Kingdom, CD 18 is Australia, CD 32 is Germany, CD 37 is Russia, CD 49 is Japan, CD 60 is The Netherlands, and so on.

Ordinary car has license plate with black background and white numbers and letters. For Jakarta car, it begins with letter B, a space, followed by four digit numbers, a space again, then two letters. Sometimes the numbers in the middle only three or two or even one digit, followed by two or one letter, but it would cost more.

In my previous letters I often mentioned about Corps Diplomatic, or "CD", cars license plate in Jakarta, but so far I never placed any photos of it. So on Friday 23 May 2008 in the morning around ten o'clock I left home on my brother-in-law's Chevrolet Blazer, bringing a digital camera, to hunt for such "CD" license plate.

Around Cinere I rarely found such "CD" cars license plate, so the plan was to go to Kemang whereas I often found it. But before getting there, I tried other locations.

First was to the Pangkalan Jati golf course, not so far away, approximately only 7 kilometers from home. The parking area was in front of the club house, clearly seen from the road, so I needed only to drive the car in front of it slowly without having to enter. No "CD" cars there.

I resumed to Cilandak Town Square, or usually known as Citos, approximately 15 kilometers from home, for previously I often seen "CD" cars there. By the time I entered the front yard of the building, two white women were uploading some boxes, probably kitchen apparels from the Department Store there, to a Toyota Fortuner. But it was a car with ordinary license plate.

I went on to the parking gates, took the ticket, and turned left to the parking lot behind the building. There were no much cars there, only around twenty five of them, in an open space parking area. I drove slowly, watching each car's license plate, yet none of them wore "CD" license plate.

From the back entrance, a Toyota Kijang came in, and................ it wore a "CD" license plate. I moved to the left allowing it to go in front of me, and while I prepared the camera, it appeared that it went into the parking building. I followed it, the light there was minimum, only some neon lights inside.

No much cars inside the ground floor of the parking building, the Toyota Kijang parked in an empty space and I parked behind it. The "CD" numbers were "CD 59 18". When I took a picture with the camera, it was not so clear, because of the reflection of the flash light on the wind shield. It made me moved the car farther to the right, and climbed down from the car to walk with a camera in my hand.

Approaching the driver, I found that he looked like a foreigner, like a Thailand or a Korean. I asked from what country is "CD 59" and he answered "New Zealand". He allowed me to take a picture of the license plate.

Later on I realized that the numbers seem like containing a message for me.

5 + 9 is 14, or like "Firman alone", while 18 is like from CD 18, the license plate for Australian embassy. Maybe I should get married, not being alone, if I still had the consent to move the eternity.

In the afternoon, I made a phone call to Russian embassy to ask whether their "CD" numbers is still "CD 37" like when they were Soviet Union. This "CD 37" is important for me since on the final match of FA Cup 2008 on 17 May 2008, between Portsmouth vs. Cardiff, the winning goal for Portsmouth was in minutes 37.

A woman there, which sounded like a native Russian who could speak Indonesian, advised me to contact the Indonesian department of foreign affairs. When later on I made the contact to ask for the list of "CD", I got the answer that such information is not for public. So what I wrote here is only based on my previous knowledge about "CD" numbers.
