Firstly g'day and welcome to my site, I'm an Australian whose interests include:Playing tennis and watching the professionals (read as ladies) play.
Watching car racing, Formula One and the best racing CART (Indycars). At the moment my favorite driver is Jacques Villeneuve closely followed by Rubens Barrichello, McLaren is my favorite team. I can't stand Michael Schumacher and Ferrari together, I hope the first Brazilian to drive at Ferrari, Rubens Barrichello beats Schumi.
American Football is another sport I like watching. C'mon the Miami Dolphins Unfortunately Dan Marino has retired so he can not win the title he deserved.
Tennis: For years the only player I would watch was Natasha Zvereva, but she doesn't get on TV much. Then in 1996 some of my friends and I went to Melbourne for the Australian Open. After that I watched the Grand Slams a bit and read magazines. One of the first magazines I bought after that had an article about Anna Kournikova so I wanted to see her play. I had to wait until the U.S. Open later that year, it was worth the wait she didn't seem to hold back on anything. Ever since I have been a tennis fanatic, but because she has sold out in her play, and the crowds are to crazy for her I prefer to watch other players.
My favorite player THE moment I saw her play is Olga Barabanschikova, it was at the Australian Open in 1998 (although I found out later that she was playing in the juniors the first time I went to the tennis). My group of friends and me all decided Court 1 was the court to be at 'cause we would all get to see who we wanted to. Everyone seemed to have the same idea but we got there early so we had our seats.
Anyway during the Goran match I squeezed ('cause it was crazy packed) out of the court to go for a walk to see Olga play. The first shot I saw from her court was a HUGE ace, it was Olga serving and she looked stunning, so I finished my film and then went and bought another one.
When I eventually got back to court one the queues were huge 'cause Agassi (out of form at this time) and then Anna were scheduled to play after the Goran match was finished. When I got back to my seat I heard about the people bitch'in about how long I had gone for but I didn't care, 'cause I knew it was well worth it.
