Pens' Barrasso is Player of the Week
Pittsburgh Penguins goaltender Tom Barrasso has been named the NHL Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 1. Barrasso posted a 3-0-1 record, 1.96 goals-against average and .942 save percentage as the Penguins extended their unbeaten streak to seven games and increased their lead in the Northeast Division to five points.

NEW YORK (January 30, 1998) - The National Hockey League announced Friday that Phoenix Coyotes' right wing Rick Tocchet has been suspended for five games, without pay, and fined $1,000 (the maximum allowed under the Collective Bargaining Agreement) as a result of a kneeing incident against Detroit's Steve Yzerman in NHL Game #667, Jan. 28.
